I was very happy that Harlem made it. I was ecstatic. I understand Johnny Wright was so astonished by Shannon and just knew she was going to be there tomorrow to sign? Therefore my aggravation came when it was time for Harlem to Shine amongst all the audience and the viewers.

Why did he have to take the spot light off Harlem by offering her a deal and give it to Shannon. Could this have not waited until after and maybe it would have made it in the newspaper or every magazine after.

They didn't do this with Clay when Reuben won. Oh, I am sorry that was another show.

Let the man enjoy his fame solely.

Since Shannon was an exception, maybe Serena and Brandon could have received a 6 month contract as well? They were just as good

Yeah, I was really annoyed with Johnny. Seal the deal with Shannon off camera so the entertainment shows have another story. He said he was always looking forward to seeing what Harlemm would do each week. Was that a lie? He sounded genuine.
Get real Johnny, Harlemm won. Good for Shannon, but Harlemm won. Do your job man, get that single out. We, the fans, want to buy it.
Then maybe Harlemm will be picked up by another label and make them big bucks. Hey Harlemm try nettwerk america, they do good things.

He made a very BOLD statement, that's what he did. He let America know what name he really wanted on his record label.

Was it right? I don't know. I often wonder how many votes would have gone to the others if Fame would have clarified the requirements for this show. If Harlemm would have been disqualified, then who know who would have won.

Bravo to the bold statement. If he takes care of Shannon before Harlemm, then too bad. They should have taken care of Harlemm before it went this far... as in, tell the public the truth about who he is, what recordings he's had, what exposure he has had, and of course, as you all know how I feel... about disqualifying him for lying.

Ok, done. Did I forget to say Bravo to you Johnny?

What you are saying is that you think Johnny was making a statement regarding "I know you won, but Shannon should have won because he was not truthful about his age and his background?" Please elaborate.

And since Fame is for singers and dancers, Shannon is/was a "dancer" for the Traiblazers? Hmm, maybe the difference is that she told it and Harlemm didn't?

Don't know.

that sleazgag was not making such an elaborate statement...he was just saying : I love to be in the studio with a goood looking woman, not with a bold short guy...From the beginning he was always saying crap to all the girls...like to JAMISEN "...I will show you how to hear yourswelf in the mike...", to Serena "...I can't wait to put you in a studio...". Talking about a f....liar!!!!!! He is just a guy who has an inferiority complex and plays on his job to shine with the ladies!!!!

You know, I had never heard of Wired records until it was a prize on a reality TV show. I am a music freak! I have WAY too many CD's.

G Johnny, I hope shannon helps your label. I really hope Harlemm does his one stint with Wired, then gets stolen by a bigger label, and makes them more money.

LOW CLASS.

He is just letting all of us know how unfair an bogus these competitions really are. They try to get you to root for the ones you like, and the best ones get booted off first.

He's had a ha..-on for Shannon from the beginning. It was no surprise that he was going to sign her anyway....however....the prize package was to go to the winner, not the Loser!

She lost. And she was rewarded, just to piss everyone off one last time!

SIMPLE --> Johnny looked and Shannon and saw big dollar signs, and he wanted them for himself. Shrewd businessman. Offering her a deal on the air was free publicity. Again, shrewd businessman.

Kinda what makes us great and whorrible as a nation, all at the same time, I think.

I am certainly very glad that Harlemm Lee won - shows that America is not as deaf as I feared they would be.

I have been watching Shannon from the beginning, and I have to agree with Shannon herself that her best performance was "Proud Mary" by Tina Turner. After that, she has been off-pitch a lot and way too much growling in the vocals. "I Will Survive" was abysmal - I love that song, and I couldn't help but cringe. As a musician, she needs to learn how to control her voice and shape her vocal stylings differently to really showcase what she's got. I hope Johnny will get her a good vocal coach who can teach her all these things. Her dancing is flawless so I have no criticisms there.

I do wish Johnny had invited Shannon to a recording contract off-camera as they did on AI. It was kind of a slap in the face for Harlemm, and he deserved to have 100% of the spotlight on him.

I don't really like this show overall - it felt very rigged and fake at times, especially this last episode. But, Harlemm, I do admire your talent and loved your rendition of "Tomorrow".

Baron and td, I couldn't agree with you more. All Johnny saw was another Britney Spears, and the way BS is selling these days, he knew he could make a good killing off of her.

As for what Baron said, I've been saying that since the beginning. Shannon tries too hard to make her voice low, rich, and sexy, but it just breaks it up and makes it fake. If she's going out for a record, I pray she fixes that.

Yep. Johnny is just an industry shark. I'm definitely not a fan of Harlemm, but what Johnny did was wrong. Offering Shannon a deal on the air while Harlemm was supposed to be celebrating his win was rude.

The best thing that Harlemm can do is record his single on Johnny's label to fulfill his contract as the winner. Then make sure his management is pursuing a deal for him on a different label. It's obvious that Johnny's priority is going to be Shannon Bex.

After seeing and hearing Harlemm last night, I thought he was a really deserving winner. He sounded very sincere when he said he thought they all deserved to win and they all would be successful. I wish him all the very best and I hope he takes his career to the very top.

About Shannon, I just don't get it. She did well last night but no better than the others. I guess her looks pushed her over the top but she just is not that special. Johnny should NOT have spoken out about her contract on the air. He was saying to her, no matter what America thinks, I picked you.

I agree. But going back to the American Idol comment. If you remember Simon said that the two - Ruben and Clay - would have singles out at the same time. Now, ain't that some bull. Now, Johnny is pulling the same crap!

I still love Serena

I agree with you, it was not cool by any means, this was a competition, Harlemm won, let him have his 15 minutes of FAME. The contract extended to Shannon was simply a "I need to get her to agree before someone else does" manuver.

NOT COOL

America can't accept having minorities in the spotlight. Ruben and Harlemm are the winners, not Clay & Shannon. Clay tried to steal Ruben's spotlight and J. Wright was very rude to Harlemm. Shannon Bex can't even sing.

But Johnny is a minority, too. It's Johnny who doesn't want Harlemm. Johnny has wanted Shannon on his label from the start. He doesn't want Harlemm and he offered nothing to Serena or Brandon either.

So it looks like Johnny is a minority who doesn't like other minorities and doesn't want to help them.

True. He's a wanna be. He is attempting to please the masses instead of seeking out true talent. Brandon would have been a better choice than Shannon since he has extra money and contracts to throw around. But no offers should have been made during Harlemm's moment in the spotlight.
By the way...Have you ever heard of Wire Records? I haven't

Johnny doesn't't represent Black people. All of his artists are lily white and immature. Harlem is an Asian guy with a Black/Soul feel. That is way out of Johnny's league.

Which is why Johnny Wright should be removed as a judge. I hope someone at NBC is reading these Fame message boards.

Um, Johnny manages Nick Cannon, BoyzIIMen, and P. Diddy

I think some folks need some Haterade. Johnny doesn't care what color you are or aren't. He is about talent and what can be marketed. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Brandon has talent. Serena has talent. But Johnny only offered Shannon a deal. Why?

that was right at that moment...there is no telling what may happen later... Serena and Brandon definitely should have record deals...

Serena comes across as being quite full of herself. Maybe that has something to do with it.

Brandon should have a deal. Just because Johnny didn't offer it to him, doesn't mean that he won't get one. Johnny has a new artist, Akon, that will soon be coming out. Maybe he thought he and Brandon are too similiar. Maybe he offered Brandon something today. Everyone knew that he wanted Shannon to join WEG, she was the runner-up so I assume that 's why he made the deal in that moment. Brandon will get picked up.

Possibly because that would stretch his questionable approach to offer a contract beyond the top 2 winners while stealing the spotlight from Harlemm? Who knows. To bad we can't interview everyone and find the truth..

You do need to go to wire records website. He represents a little boy , and a little girl group. Both are wholesome, very White groups. I do not see Harlem fitting in that roster. I was talking about his record label, not his management company. I know nothing about that.

The winner of Fame was offered a record deal with Jonny's label, Wire records. He was biased from the start because.....He does not do Black, Negro, Ethnic, Asian, ect...on this label.
None that I could tell. I searched all over the site. I saw the fame album comming out, and his two artist on profile, when you click on their pictures it sends you to amazon to buy their little cd's.

It is not to criticise him, but to recognize what he wanted to work with a young, wholesome, all American girl as opposed to hard core Asian-Fusion talent.

I'm not too huge on the matter of who should've gotten the record deal and shouldn't have. My main peeve, and the original discussion here, was the fact that Johnny was rude enough to offer Shannon a deal on stage. It was Harlemm's time, Harlemm's fifteen, even ten minutes. WHY did he have to do it on the air? It would have made the press not too long after anyway.

i wont go into detail - but you people dont know what went on after the show! You should not assume things about Johnny when you have no idea what is going on now. Just because the details of all top 4 winners werent made public yet doesn't mean they have been ignored. Lt's just say BRANDON will be just fine!!!!

Again, I'm hardly upset at the fact that Shannon got the deal...actually, I am in some ways, but I'm more angry at the fact that Johnny just had to offer it on stage. It's like taking half of Harlemm's birthday cake and giving it to someone else while he's about to blow the candles out.
