I never looked at it this way before, but I think you're right. Shannon and Serena are very close talent-wise. Between the two of them, Shannon is the better dancer and Serena is the better singer. They sort of balance each other out.

First of all...let's get one thing straight. We are so use to crap that we can't discern real talent when it comes knocking.
Serena is one of the best vocalist I have ever heard. There are several catagories. The pop divas Beyonce, Ashanti, Christina, and then there are legendary divas - Whitney, Celine, Aretha. With Serena's voice she is in the legendary diva category. And Yes, I will admit that she is not a broadway musical dancer BUT she can shake a tail feather to anything. 3x threat. Maybe not - because of the dancing - but absolutely a great singer.
Shannon: Can dance her tail off. I love to see her dance. Wow! Wonderful personality. Just an all around nice girl. But she can not sing. She covers it up by singing really fast up-beat songs. But please, the girl can not sing.
Brandon: wonderful personality, he can sing, he can dance. 3x threat? Yes
Harlem: Same thing. he can sing, he can dance (not broad-way musical) but like Serena, he can shake a tail feather when he needs to. 3x threat? No really but, Go Harlem for winning FAME! | | Reply To this Message

Serena started out strong, with a lot of support. But she was abandoned. On last week's show, all of the judges picked who they thought would win and none of them picked Serena. I started feeling sorry for her last week. Serena was the only one who didn't have a judge pick her. She was the only one standing on stage without a judge's endorsement.
Johnny was out-of-line for offering Shannon a deal but nothing to Serena or Brandon. It would be great if somebody like Clive Davis, Babyface, or P.Diddy offers Serena a deal.
