On the July 16 show, each of the judges picked a favorite from the 4 finalists.

Carnie picked Harlemm. JoJo picked Brandon. Johnny picked Shannon. None of the judges picked Serena.

This seemed odd. It's especially odd for Johnny to pick a favorite, since the winner is going to record on his label. What if the winner is Harlemm, Serena, or Brandon? How would they like working with Johnny if they know that he prefers Shannon over them?

Like all of us on this site, we have favorites from FAME. So do the judges. I'd like to think that they are professionals and that their favorites would not affect their work ethics.

And who ever wins, I'm almost positive that doors would also open to the other 3 for their great talents.

I AGREE!!!!

REGARDLESS of the votes, all 4 finalists are STARS! they have been discovered and being on this show has given them enough exposure to make it to the next level.

MY favorite has ALWAYS been SHANNON BEX, but i do appreciate and enjoy the other 3 finalists! they are all so talented but ONLY SHANNON is the true TRIPLE THREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To be fair, they had to drag it out of Johnny.

I thought they asked the judges "Who do you think will win?" Not, "Who is your favorite?"

Either way - who do you want do win or who is your favorite, it's not up to them. They were just asked their opinions like what we all are doing here.

AI did the same thing with the judges. I think it's harmless to get the judge's opinions of who they think should win, but I also think it's a ploy to steer votes in the direction they want them to go.

I think Carnie acted like a high school teeniebopper with hormone problems when judging Harlemm. She went way over board on the type of support. It just seemed immature to take it to the extremes she did.

Jo Jo made some of his judge remarks based on his hormones too, and made it clear certain female contestants were turning him on.

This contest was more like a popularity contest with the judges, and trying to please Debbie, and they spent very little time giving the contestants constructive criticism.

It does matter if they were asked, "Who do you think will win", because if asked that, then they aren't necessarily picking their favorites. What they're doing is picking who they think AMERICA will pick, not who they would pick themselves.

Well, at first my thought was that Serena would win because of her powerful voice.

But after seeing all 4 performers every week, I am going with Brandon. Fame says they are looking for a triple threat, a person who can sing, dance, and has star quality.

In my eyes, only one of the four has ALL three of the requirements -- and that's Brandon. Brandon can sing, dance, and he has pleasant personality that can translate into star quality.

Serena has a great voice but doesn't dance well.

Shannon dances well but has a poor voice.

Harlemm is a novelty act who is so over-the-top I expect him to come onstage in an organ-grinder costume with a monkey on his shoulder any minute...

Brandon is only 16 years old, so he's not going to win Fame. But of the 4 contestants left, he is the only one who meets all 3 of the requirements.

Famester - thanks for the Brandon support!!! ( Yes, I feel like I have to acknowledge the new supporters!) He SHOULD win! I agree totally with you above post! But why do you think he wont win because of his age? Its a perfect age for a new artist. Like others have said - he is appealing to young and old alike!

It's amazing how the judges opinions sway the America public. It would have been beneficial if the judges comments were actually constructive but instead they seemed to stick to one label of each performer and just judge them based on that label. This competitoin would have turned out much differently if there hadn't been any judges making comments. It definitely was a hindrance to those with true talent who just weren't the judges' favorite.

brandon is an amazing performer and it's going to be a close competition.

Serena doesn't have what it takes, she is mediocre at most - she certainly can't dance, based on what we all saw last night - Harlemm or Shannon - Brandon's awful, his voice is terrible, why can't everyone see that - he sings FLAT!!

Different Strokes..... Serena is a powerful singer. She will make it to the top even if she doesn't win Fame. And Brandon is every bit as much of a triple threat as Harlemm. I can hardly wait for next Wednesday!!!

hey Orchesis - as Brandon would say "That's not nice". Brandon is far from awful! He may not be your favorite but his not deserving of such a word. If he were awful he would not be in the top 4 (where he truly deserves to be). And you are from Tennessee too! Come on support our boy from Knoxville!

Correction- I said that i agreed" totally "with Famester on an above post - I dont totally agree. Shannon does NOT have a POOR voice. It is just not as strong as it needs to be on the ballads - and I dont consider Harlemm a novelty act - although he is an exciting PERFORMER I would rather SEE him onstage not as a recording artist on the radio. I am very impressedd with them all!!! and I dont feel ANY of them deserve a NEGATIVE comment!

Hey my name is Sheila I am going under my cousin's posting. I think that even though this have went through and I think that Harlemm and Shannon are really great but I still think Justin Jacoby should have won because I really just love him and he is really hot and talanted. I also liked Alex Boyd too he was awesome as well and cute too but I will always love Justin and he will always be number one with me.

I thought Justin was really good too. I think he lost out because he did rap and that is a tough category like Johnny said. But I also think Johnny will offer him a deal because he talked alot about it when Justin was still on the show. About how good Justin was and excactly how he would market him. And I loved Alex as well. But they both got lots of exposure and you can bet talent agents sat up and took notice.

Shannon Bex rocked my face off during Hot Lunch. As Debbie would obnoxiously say, she's going to go "all the way."

And here in lies the problem with those judges, AND Debbie. Did he say Justin was good, because he meant it, or did he say it because he didn't want to listen to Debbie jump all over him for finding something wrong?

The judges weren't allowed to give comments, other than positive ones, to any of the contestants. Sometimes they got to make comments at the end of a performance, and sometimes they didn't. One or two said something, but not all of them. They were very inconsistent, so how do we know if they really liked the performances? I think the judges got a few constructive pointers across, but not enough to make a change in the performances.

We'll see if he really signs Justin on for something. Until then, I think it was just being nice for the sake of Debbie.

Regardless, I hope Justin will go on and be a big success and I think he will. He did get some exposure. I just found him endearing and talented and who knows? Maybe another tv show will come along and showcase him.

I've never cared for rap music but I couldn't stop watching him.

This is Sheila again and I know he will go all the way he is awesome. You heard what he said no matter what happens on Fame he was still going get his mom that house on the hill. A nd besides he has alot of that special something to him that makes you just know he will go all the way. And anyways I love him regardless and I look forward to buying his CDs.

Get real. Justin totally sucked. The only people who could possibly think Justin was good are 12 year old girls. Just because he is cute doesn't make him talented. Johnnie said that he could take Justin on tour to Asia or Russia (or some place like that) and make him a star there. Translation....Nobody in America would think Justin is talented with his lame rap lyrics and bad flow so let's take him to a third world country where the poor people don't know what good rap is. His "Tony the Tiger...Energizer bunny" lyrics sound like he is rapping to 5th graders.

He could rape to me anyday and I also look forward to buying his cds in the USA and by the way I'm 17 years old and I'm in the 12 grade and I love him. I think his lyrics are slamming and no matter what you say I still think I will be buying Justin's cd someday soon, and I still love him. By the way this is Dancole's cousin Sheila. And one more thing I told you I was 17 and not 12 and he is so hotttttttttt to me.

I thought it was funny when Johnny said he would take Justin overseas to launch his career. I think that was very diplomatic of him

I think the judges were told to each pick a different favorite to make the final show more exciting, if they all picked Harlemm no one would even bother to watch. Why didn't someone pick Serena? I don't know, but I can't remember any of the judges ever saying anything critical about during the previous shows, so maybe they thought she could handle not being picked.

Serena was the early favorite. All of the judges had good things to say about her. But as the competition went on it became clear that Serena is a double threat, not a triple threat. She has the voice and the personality, but not the dancing.

I think the early support from all the judges ended up hurting Serena with voters. Voters like to pull for the underdog. The praise that Serena received early on almost made it seem like she had won already. I think a lot of voters were turned off by that.

It was a type era and I did mean he could rap to me anyday. And you can go on all you want but I know he will have a cd out soon.
