Which house...

If you were a student at Hogwarts, and you were sitting on the stool with the sorting hat upon your head, where do you think that it would place you? Why? And, which house would you want to be in? Here is a sorting hat description of each house.


Gryffindor
"You might belong in Gryffindor,
Where dwell the brave at heart,
There daring, nerve, and chivalry
Set Gryffindors apart"

Hufflepuff
"You belong in Hufflepuff,
Where they are just and loyal,
Those patient Hufflepuffs are true
And unafraid to toil."

Ravenclaw
"Here in wise old Ravenclaw,
If you've a ready mind,
Those of wit and learning,
Will always find their kind."

Slytherin
"Here you are in Slytherin,
Where you'll make your real friends,
Those cunning folk use any means
To achieve their ends."

I think that the hat would sort me to either Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff. The reason that I think it would choose Ravenclaw is because I'm a person who loves to study, read and learn as much as I can. The reason that I think it would choose Hufflepuff is because I am a very loyal person, but I'm not patient... so the hat would most likely choose Ravenclaw.

Where would I want to be placed? My first thought would be Gryffindor, just because of who is all in that house. But, I would also like to be in Ravenclaw, just to be with people who could have fun, but are really in to gaining knowledge.

I think I would be somewhere between Gryffindor and Hufflepuff. In the end however, I think Hufflepuff is where I belong.

Just as the descriptions state, I am extremely loyal, patient, and I am incredibly good tempered. I always look on the bright side of things and believe in taking the high road. It takes a lot to get me upset, but when I do, its only temporary and I'm back to my old self again.

I'm brave at heart and chivilrous, but in the end, I tend to take things on the safe side. So that's why I can't be in Gryffindor.

I would love to be placed in Slytherin. Don't ask me why. I have always loved snakes and there is a dark side to me sometimes.

i can see myself being in any of the 4 houses. i'm brave and pretty daring like Griffindors, a loyal, good friend like the Hufflepuffs, smart and studious like the Ravenclaws and shrewd and crafty like the Slytherins. i guess if i had to be sorted, i'd end up in either griffindor or slytherin (i know, it's weird since they're so different), but i think that there are qualities from each of the houses in all of us.

I agree with you. I know that there are qualities in me for any of those houses, even Slytherin. Brrrrrrrrr.... did it just get really chilly in here? Anyway... I totally agree with you that it's quite possible to be put in any one of those 4 different houses, and the hat just finds those traits that stand out the most and that's where you will be placed.

For me i would probably be in Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw, though i wish i was a brave enough to be in Griffindor.

i think i would be better in Ravenclaw though out of the two cause i like to learn new things

Well like KJPotter my first thought would of been Gryffindor becausae most of the main characters are in there. But now that i have gone throu i think i would be in Ravenclaw. I dont like to study that much but i am naturally intelligent (not to affend anyone or anything). So i think Ravenclaw would best fit me.

I know everone never seems to choose slytherin beacuse of malfloy ... but the explainatio fits me perfect i will do anything i have to to acheive my goals but also i might be a hufflepuff beacuse i am caring and i am very very loyal to my closest freinds and family.

It's not that I wouldn't want Slytherin because of Malfoy. It's because of they type of people that are in that house in general. I'm not a cunning person in the way of hurting others to get what I want. I could never be like that. I also don't have a desire to achieve power and prestige, like many of the Slytherins do.

Ravenclaw for me... or maybe Gryff, but probably Ravenclaw.

I speak very little, unless its to try and help someone, and I listen very well... I love to read, and learn... can't ever seem to stop learning. And I have an open mind...

I also enjoy chocolate ice cream and long walks on the beach. So... anyone want to have dinner?

I think that I would be put in Ravenclaw... I love to learn and study hard for school. I also know things directly out of books kind of like Hermione does! I would love to be in Gryffindor though... But hey, tons better than Slytherin.

I think that I would be hard to place. My husband thinks that I am cunning, but my phobia of snakes would rule out Slytherin-as well as their moral code. Ravenclaw, well, I love learning new things, did very well in college, but don't consider myself THAT clever. I always do the right thing, even if it is difficult, so I would probably be in Griffindor.

Oh, I love chocolate, walks on the beach, and otters.

yeah off topic... wlll it seems to me that it is to hard to place yourself in a house thats why they have a hat do it but i think we have a lot ravenclaws in this forum well that just proves this forum is tight

I think that the comment that hagrid isn't big was saying about there being a lot of Ravenclaws here was a good point. Even though we're all chatting in Gryffindor, we seem to have the requirements for Ravenclaw, and would do well in there.
