Its been some months since my last post. The war has ended and still we are being fed with the same stuff about how just and right was the war. I dont see it like that. All the major objectives in both campaigns against Afghanistan and Iraq havent been met. Neither Bin or Saddam have been brought to justice. No WMD have been found. People lifes there still wait to turn to the better. So making a sum of the past months we see that all the war was about was for nothing... EXCEPT that damn oil and control of the region for USA. Congratulations to those who support the war. Their wallets must feel a bit heavier from now on.................

hi loft,

you are right about the major objectives not reached but about the right or wrong the war was, yes, people still care about that, hopefully, if it was not the case this would open the door to a new brand of dictatorship .....

June 25, 2003 — U.S. troops have uncovered millions of documents that detail Iraq’s massive chemical and biological weapons programs. It’s good news for America, but bad news for Bush-haters still looking for a reason to criticize the war.

Remember the U2 song with the hook “How long…how long must we sing this song?” Well, it’s an appropriate chorus for those of us still dealing with those on the left who hate the fact that America won the war.

They first predicted a quagmire; they were wrong.

They then blasted the President for not putting in the troops required to win the war; on that count, they were wrong.

When we breezed into Baghdad, Bush-haters then predicted prolonged riots and chaos, saying Baghdad was better off with Saddam, wrong again.

Then they moved on to Pottery-gate, with Peter Jennings and the New York Times blaming America first for the looting of 170,000 priceless artifacts. When that number ended up being closer to 30, no apologies, no retractions.

Then they moved on to Weapons of Mass Destruction, so blinded by their hatred of Bush that they forgot Saddam himself admitted having the weapons in 1998, and the UN confirmed that fact last fall.

And today, these poor, whining naysayers have been proven wrong once again.

NBC learned this afternoon that these documents give detailed instructions on how to hide materials and lie to UN weapons inspectors, and how to hide the deadly VX nerve gas. US troops also found materials to make the extremely deadly biological agent Ricin.

On top of that, an Iraqi scientist also led troops to nuclear weapons parts and documents that were to be used to restart Saddam Hussein’s nuclear program.

All in all, a great day if you believe stopping the proliferation of chemical, biological and nuclear weapons is a good thing. But, it was a very bad day indeed if world security takes a back seat to your personal hatred of George W. Bush.

Iraq had WMD from the early 1980s. Where were you guys to wear your shining armor and protect the world back then??? Propably you didnt say anything because Saddam was using them to fight Iran. Why dont you liberate N Korea??????

And the Kurds? Were the kurds a sworn enemy of the US in the 1980s as well?

Saddam does what he wants, not what rational people think.
Don't blame the U.S. for this maddness.

Well actually the US helped Saddam out with agricultural exports after he gassed the Kurds because he had killed lots of farmers in his mini-genocide and Iraq was facing a food shortage as a result. US might not have pulled the trigger but they gave him the gun.

Yeah, the U.S. is to blame, Grimey one.... One thing about you leftist U.S.-hating foreigners: you are sooooo predictable. Let me guess... the next tragic thing that another rogue regime will do, that will also be the fault of the U.S. See how easy that was—no surprises here—no debate, no question about it. You guys are always right.

And what's really 'cool' is that everybody believes you—they really do.... no, really.....

Well, at least you all believe each other, that's something, I suppose...

REMEMBER, JUST A THANK YOU WILL DO.

Surely Slow,
Do you have a response. Not sure I could pick one out amongst the ridicule you find so much easier to write. Do you have an explanation as to why your administration at the time helped Saddam after his Kurd gassing foray.

First of all lets clear something. There other people except commies and yankies in this world. The world has suffered a lot from both the US and USSR. You simple both sack. We are the new generation of people that want a more fair world. We have seen enough the last 50 years. All the "goodness" and the "care" you showed in small countries. As for the other part. Tell me who helped to establish a military coup in Greece in 1967. Who organized the coup in Chile in 1973. Who invaded Afghanistan, czechoslovakia in 1968. There is nobody that hates USA,USSR or the people there. Everybody feels that both this "superpowers" played fro many years with the rest world deciding for others people life. Just one example. UK,USA,USSR supporting the fighting groups in Greece during the 1946-49 civil war. If they didnt fuel the fire with weapons and support there wouldnt be any war. But the price is too big to be ignored. An entire country under your control. And that is only for my country. Go and ask people from Vietnam,Afghanistan,Korea,Chile,Nicaragua,Panama,C
uba and many other if they want any god damn help from a so called "superpower" to solve their problems.

Feel a little oppressed do you, lefty? TOO BAD! The U.S. will always stay the course—regardless of pathetic crybabies such as yourself. The U.S gets things done. Noone else does this—noone else can.

You can continue to squint at reality through your U.S.-hating rhetoric but it won't change diddly squat. You peons have been crying about the U.S.-this and the U.S.-that since time imemmorial. Well, continue to sit back in you chair at the kafenio, sipping your cafethaki and cursing "poustithes amerikanoi" and watch how things are done..... gia hara!

From the greek words you use I can understand that either you visited once greece and learnt few scarce words or they guy that helps you hasnt visited us for years. In the Kafeneio now go only people aged 60 and above. So I presume that your age is around that. That also show that you are the product of the cold war. The constant struggle of the commies against the yankies, the bad against the evil. The new aged people dont see it like that. We dont hate nobody for its political ,religious beliefs etc. We believe that if the "BIG NATIONS" left the rest of the world alone many of the problems would be solved. Most of the problems that the globe faces are directly connected with the rich nations. War, povetry, pollution.
You dont see anything of that because you live in a rich country with big highways and tall scyscrapers. Visit a poor country.(Not as a tourist in an expensive hotel but as wanderer and you will see what I meen).
YG. I was excpecting a lot more than "Feel a little oppressed do you, lefty?" If I said you are something that you arent and you declined and proved that you arent I would have accepted that and corrected my mistake. I see that you dont have the capability for that. Just this thing. If you still see me as a "lefty" you need only one thing. New glasses.

I found this on debka. Just don't tell the Iraqis, they'll go apesh!t!!

The Americans are secretly building two giant intelligence facilities in Iraq at a cost of some half a billion dollars, according to an exclusive report received from DEBKA-Net-Weekly?s intelligence sources.

Ther article seems very dodgy to me. The first thing are the dates. Everything happened betwwen 10 january and 10 March and ended only 10 days before the invasion. Ten seems to be a magic number here. Furthermore the article says that the transportation was made in "giant tankers under Syrian special forces and military intelligence escort".The WMD were burried in holes 6-8 meter across 25 deep. Ok can somebody really bellieve that ALL this havent been noticed by either the US or the Israels that are just few miles away from the valley???? The final strike came for me when I read in the article the following "They were sealed and planted over with new seedlings. Nonetheless, their location is known and detectable with the right instruments. Our sources have learned that Syria was paid about $35". So we have the best intelligence agency (CIA) supported by two other considered amongst the best(Mossad,MI5) that cant find the Iraqi WMD and at the same time a media agency knows the place they are hidden, the time they were transported and even the money that were paid by Saddam. Either somebody doesnt know how to do his job or somebody tells us huge lies.

Anyway two thumbs up for USA1 that at least supports his oppinion with some documents. I am waiting some other masterminds for some prove of what they are saying........

DaveDom,
There's lots of news out there that we don't get a lot of coverage on.
The new Iraqi government is almost on line and I'm sure they are aware of the G2 stations but, time will tell if this really has 4,000 troops. That nuber seems pretty high to me. Maybe 200 but, surely not 4,000.

We certainly can't walk into Syria and demand an investigation, although negociations are surley taking place. One sided, I am sure. Syria will never admit to anything and will most likely be an even greater threat to Isreal because of their support for Hammas. I don't trust the Syrian goverment. Their leader is almost as big a criminal as Saddam. Maybe not as murderous but certainly as corrupt.

I am sure they are on the list of terrorist harboring states, but I think North Korea followed by Iran should get more attention. Personally I'd like to see North Korea's nuclear facilities wiped out by precision guided weapons asap.

My problem with all this is the inability of the neighboring countries to take responsibility for their regions. The Arab states ignored Iraq for religious reasons and China needs to step up and slap Korea's hand.
It seems Iran is now experiencing their own inner turmoil with a democratic uprising among the younger generation. Unfortunately nothing much will change before they finish developing their nuclear capabilities. They know that Iraq and Afghanistan can do nothing to counter this and are counting on the U.S. to be spread too thin militarily in other regions. That is a huge mistake on their part.

Hmm.. what was the war about? Let me create a scenario for you. You live in an appartment complex and the guy down the hall beats up his foster kids and his own kids. Do you coupe yourself up in your appartment and mind your own business or do you call your friend, a 6'5 300 pound monster to go deal with the guy? the sad part is that most people would ignore the problem and mind their own business...then they turn around and claim to be humanitarian. Bush and Blair just saved millions of people from suffering and death and we want to call them liars?
