cracks safe? PLEASSSSSE :)

I downloaded software and it came with a crack to add to the registry editor,, is this safe for my computer? This is scary for people who would'nd know how to fix it if it messes up the whole system

Who knows - it could be safe - it could be not. Depends on the reputation of the location where you downloaded it from.

You might consider backing up your registry prior to moving forward.

I don't know if you'll still read this, or if you've applied the registry hack already, but you can use the Backup utility that comes with the OS to backup the "system state" (includes the registry).

If applying the hack does cause problems, you can restore the backup and everything would be back to normal. The restoration could be a little difficult, depending on the level of damage done, though.

first you should backup your registery
Start > run > type “regedit” > go to file > export > save
By doing this you have saved your copy of the working registry.
After you apply the crack and you are not happy then you can Start > run > type “regedit” > go to file > import > save
This will get you back to where you started (before applying the crack)
Generally cracks are safe, BUT IT COMES WITH ILLEGAL SOFTWARE so I strongly believe that you have downloaded illegal software
