I was wondering if someone could give me good justification for continuing to use Affirmative Action.

Nope.

Affirmative Action is nothing more than enforced Selective Discrimination.

True Equal Opportunity is blind to everything: Age, Sex, Religion, Origin, Race, Politics, Gender Preference, etc.

And college entrance favoritism is worse. Other than some consideration for being a Vet, you should qualify on merit alone.
