| Posted by: nsyncsux | | I continue to see a thread running throughout most of the posts here. If anyone says anything negative, time and time again I see follow-ups chastising others because the comments could 'hurt other contestants' feelings', or comments could 'hurt family members which are reading the board'.
While I would never say someone "sucked" or anything directly insulting like this in any of my posts, the fact remains that when appearing on a show such as Fame, you are opening yourself up criticism, harsh or otherwise.
It's a reality TV show, and like it or not, people are entitled to their own opinion. If the contestants are going to be in the public eye, they better get some thick skin, and fast.
I'm all for keeping a positive attitude and giving constructive criticism, but for my money, I choose to ignore people who say stupid things and give opinions I don't agree with. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Brit's Chipmunk | | I know this is directed at me, and I agree, I have been a bit harsh to people who have been a bit negative...
but when one of the contestants is my best friend, it's hard not to take opinions personally. I'll try to keep my emotions in check.
however, don't you think it's sad that people who want to pursue their dreams of singing and dancing MUST learn to deal with negative comments? I'm sure they already get enough outside this board, so why can't we at least try to make them happy by just letting them know that we're behind those that we like? all I'm saying is, I've not said a single bad comment about any of the contestants, because I'm sure whatever I have to say, they already know from the panel of professional dancers and singers that are supposed to help them get better.
Please don't think that I think of you all as mean people, because I don't at all. I know there are message boards out there that really attack the performers personally, calling the girls sluts and the guys gay. I think that's just sad... | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: nsyncsux | | This post was definitely intended for no one in particular! I was just stating that I have seen this quite a few times throughout the posts, and I was venting. | | Reply To this Message
