That adler girl's performance was awesome BUT i felt quite uncomfortable to see a 16yrold teenager gyrate and WHAM tear open her thighs and BAM pitch up her behind in front of national tv! Sure she has THE right stuff but i personally dont feel right about that kind of provocativeness for a 16yrold. Maybe im just oldfashioned -- but STILL!

At the taping, the question in the audience was "How will they show that on TV?" Because when she bent over, we got the posterior view.

It was very Fosse - but you dont see 16 year olds doing Fosse on Broadway!

exactly, shelmibelle. show#3 is attracting controversy in that aspect.

The girl's got GUTS!! Yeah, she's young but just think, 10 years from from now...she's got great stage presence and she's probably going to get even better...she's got the voice, she's got the moves...I wish she were going to go on to the next phase but hey, she'll get where she's going....

Alexis - You Go Girl!!!

lol, yeah I think its kinda weird but so funny that these teens are giving it all to look like a cabaret dancer, but yeah the strength I agree lies in whether they pulled it off or not. Because look, they're doing this now with Britney and Christina (or rather should I say X-tina, geeez), and I bet very few think Britney can actually sing (maybe dance, but not sing), Christina can sing but she tends to take her act to extremely trashy levels (Dirrty is prime example), but the way Alexis pulled it off was impressive albeit uncomfortable for everyone else in the audience, and great great voice.

ohmygosh! ur splitting my sides! one magazine described "X-tina"'s look as porno-chic. is that what they're trying pull off too?

lol, i would think so. now the point seems to be who can make carnie and jojo say something to the effect of "omg, that was too hot for me". funnier still, its always teens too. but then again i don't think the judges have a problem with provocative material if the contestants are older.
christina aguilera though, i have no idea lol...

Well I think all the girls were very talented but I don't understand why they keep on pushing all them to be so nasty! I don't necessarily think it would be in bad taste if these girls were at least adults, and if they weren't doing these sex shows for EVERY SINGLE number. (What happened to variety?)

The only females I can think of so far that have been, well, more covered up, have been Mackenzie and Serena... That's IT.

And I'm sorry but I think that part where the girl bent over and spread 'em for the audience was just fat out gross! And not even done well... First of all she held it way too long, for 8 beats of music (and the music was fairly slow tempo too!) Also, coming up out of that pose was a little awkward and wasn't done smoothly and with control. Looked more like she was being rolled over in bed than dancing?

But I'm not blaming her so much as I am TPTB and/or Debbie who are helping thse girls decide on what to sing and what to wear and what choreography to use...

Other than that I thought the girls did a pretty good job. Still, this is the first week where actually I've agreed with the judges on all three contestants that they chose to move on...

yeah i agree the butt thing seemed like a desperate attempt to sex up her act (if it even needed that lol), and the fact that it was straight out at the audience...all i can say is thank god we were looking at it from the other side!
debbie does seem influential in making these decisions (especially that hilarious "don't hate" comment to carnie wilson). but this week had so much talent that's sure to be noticed later even if they didn't move on to the finals.

I agree..The whole butt thing was alittle over the top....

Posted by: Reality Voyeur

Well AFAIC that butt thing is what lost it for her... if *I* were a judge, and she *hadn't* of done that I would have put her in the top 3 and not Raymond... For me it was a tough call between Alexis & Raymond for the number 3 spot.

i really dont understand why debbie would cut off a judge's comment on a performance. is she trying to control them? then that's not fair for the performer and the viewers as well! i luv miz debbie but i dont agree when she limits the judges' commentaries. she may be the creator/producer of the show but then why would she put judges when she doesnt want them to speak up anyway? just for show then?

Posted by: Reality Voyeur

I love Debbie too but I'm thinking maybe she has a few control issues? lol

since miz debbie is running the show to her terms then i guess the judges are there as "decorations" or just part of the set. geez, im just so upset that my wonderful miz debbie is controlling the show too much.

It does feel funny watching 16yo girls DO THAT. If they allow that on tv what else are they coming up with NEXT? VERY SUGGESTIVE, DUDE!

All I know is that if that were my little girl on stage performing like that, I'd take her right off stage.

And that kind of provocativeness is cheap, easy entertainment. There's no talent in spreading your legs open and wiggling your butt at everybody. That move cost her the winning spot.

And yes, I have to agree, this was the first episode where I actually agreed with the judges. I still think Ryan Chotto was seriously cheated.

yep he was cheated - he was definitely better than Raymond & Justin - Hows that for the UNDERSTEMENT OF THE YEAR!!!!!!!!

Well I do think Ryan was certainly MUCH better than Brandon...

Come On, Voyeur. How can you seriously think he was better than Brandon. I think Brandon was great. I mean I don't know him, but I take that personally. Did you see the way he mixed that ballet in with his hip hop dancing? HOT!!! And his voice was so much stronger that Ryan's. Do't get me wrond, Ryan was good--but not better than Brandon.

No offense intended, just my opinion! I just thought Brandon's vocals weren't good... Ryan's weren't too much better, but I think his problem was more that his voice wasn't strong & powerful enough rather than off-pitch...

I don't know what the judges heard of Brandon but I think they were way overpraising him on his voice...

And I certainly think Ryan was the better dancer... but that's not to say Brandon's is bad... but i'd say Ryan's probably in the top 3 dancers out of all I've seen so far.

reality voy: i saw that in ryan's singing too. he didnt miss a note but his voice wasnt projected stongly enough to command an impact. he danced incredibly well but he needs to workout those vocal muscles too. but still, ryan could have been a much better choice than justin and raymond (sorry guys, just my humble opinion). once again, slice it...dice it...throw it in the blender...

Ryans voice was nice but if any of you have a tape of show #2 go back & really listen to Brandon again!!!!! He was very nervous and didnt belt it out but the guality is there! Take another listen and let's hear back from you! He is very talented and would make an excellant choice for the winner of this contest. Yes he is young and less experienced that some but you canat deny the boy is talented. Take another look!

yah i really think debbie shoots back her comments to the judges because it makes for interesting tv and Alexis was very good, and i think from Debbies standpoit if you eer go into the dance world or dance competitions yooung girls dance like that all the time, i guess its just more acceptable in the dance world...but to put it on national television to the average person theyre not used to that, and they dont know really how to take it....but im glad theyre not putting an age limit kind of thing on what the teens do, and making them sing Candy by mandy moore or something

Is dat right??? Im not an expert on the subject, but i think risky material like that provocative number are not usually given to young girls. Ah dunno. I might be wrong, but thats how i see it. Care to add more input guys?

well im a dancer so thats just what i think about it caus ei know in dance competitions and what not people are dancing to dirty, and shaking all theyve got and everything...so i just think from dancers standpoint all that wasnt a big deal but on national television it is

fate, what kind of competitions are you talking about? I dance in C/W competitions and there is a rule that while "flirtatious" moves are acceptable, "vulgar or obscene" moves are inappropriate and may be penalized at the juddes' discretion.

I don't see it happen too often because most people dance pretty cleanly and don't get even close to doing anything "vulgar"...

Yah, she was a little bit over the top. Hey, it may work for her someday in life, like as a stripper or something. But it seems nowadays, kids are so inundated with soft porn media images, that it must just seem natural to them to try and conform to that standard. I think it's rather sad being that sublety can be much more powerful in performances than obvious blantant sexual displays. I'm sure there are many men who would disagree with this statement.... Nevertheless, I do agree that a mistake was made on this girl's part with the flashing of her shorty-shorts, and she must have thought that if she attracted SOME kind of attention, it would get noticed over pure talent. Although some may argue that the ancient origins of dancing and performing WERE meant to be sexual displays, I hope we have become a more civilized society in these last few centuries and can say that performing is also for entertainment value and projection of charisma. To make a closet performer (like me!) feel the goosebumps of just a downright cool performance.
