GET YOUR BUTT TO THE FOSSE AUDITION!!!!!!! NO EXCUSES!!!! The people at FAME may have done you a favor! You didnt make the cut and were sent back to NY for a reason. Think about this - you said in the audition process that you love to be on the stage performing, right? Well as a singer (& winner of Fame) you probably wouldnt be performing everynight - unless you were involved in a tour. And even then you wouldnt be able to showcase your dancing like you would want to. You have worked your butt off to become one of the best DANCERS around You have beautiful technique and incredible stage presence! You are physically beautiful (and seem to be a great person on the inside too) and the public loves you (obviously). I feel that you would be happier on Broadway or on a Broadway show tour where you can DANCE your little booty off everyday day and use your hard earned technique and be appreciated for it!!! Your voice is good enough to support the fact that your are a DANCER who Sings! Dont let the constructive criticism on the forum get you down. There is a special place waiting for you to showcase your talent! Fame was not it - but that doesnt mean in any way, shape or form that you are not extremely talented!!!! Get to that audition and WOW them!!!! Nothing bad can come of it - only good!!! Now go forth and get noticed by the others who know what you are cut out for!!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!
Shelmbelle ,I did not even know that you have never even met Ryan.How can you tell him what he is good at when you do not even know him.Apparently this was the first time you have seen him perform.Well I do not want to sound mean ,but you can not say he is just a dancer because he is behind that and more .You do know that Ryan lives in New York [ALONE] and has an agent to tell him what to do and not .Thank you so much anyway.Ms Patti
patti i HAVE met Ryan and took a class with him at his old dance studio!!! I have mentioned this before. A former dance student of mine was in the touring company of Chicago and they were at the Grand. He and another cast member taught a master class. I was extremely impressed with Ryans dancing then as I am now. He rehearsed a solo that he was working on after the master class and thats the 1st time I saw him perform something other than the dance combos. I spoke with Karl (he was in Chicago - now in the touring company of CATS) and Ryan DOES remember meeting me. You are taking offense to my comments and they were not meant to be taken in a bad way. My point was that Ryan is TOO talented of a DANCER to be put in a recording studio all day when he should be ON STAGE EVERYDAY! tHATS ALL I MEANT. Now that Fame has passed on him (NOT that they should have) but he should not pass up a chance at another great opportunity!!!! And if his agent does not encourage to audition for all that comes around - he should seek another agent.
I just find odd that when speaking to Ryan,about you tonight he says he has never met you ,just within an hour he remember's you and calls Karl to tell him that . Ryan is not wasting his talent and I believe his agent will advise him in the right path .This is how they get paid [RIGHT] . Really thanks for trying to help him, but like he said , "RYAN IS GOING TO DO WHAT THE HELL RYAN WANTS TO DO!!!!" You will see!!! PATTI
Patti, why would I make up the fact that I met him? Its not that big of a deal! Its not like he is some major celebrity that I am bragging about. I believe the solo he was working on (in the studio) was Mr. Bojangles. Any recolection of that dance? PUUULEEEEZ! What a rediculous thing to put up the "BS" flag. I have better things to do than to pretend to meet certain people. Excuse me for taking interest in your step son and just simply giving him some support. That was MY OPINION of what he seems like he would be successful doing. I am sure he is not going to bed at night worrying about whether he should DO WHAT I TELL HIM TO DO!
I do not mean to come across as being sarcastic.I do want to stress the point that once again you have not heard him sing other than on Fame .That was a solo dance number . It does not matter to me if you have met him or not because the fact is "YOU MUST NOT HAVE MADE AN IMPRESSIONABLE IMPACT ON HIM" .He does not remember you a bit .Surely you would remember him because of his dancing skills and I can understand that since you are a dancing teacher. All I can say is that one day SOON Ryan will be a big celebrity !!! I'll sum it up his singing ability is as well as his dancing ability . Patti u are over the top!!!!! It honestly doesnt bother me that he doesnt remember me. I was not trying to make an impact on anyone. He met me as Karls dance teacher and it was very brief - didnt attempt to be lifelong friends. I have never let on that i have "known" him at all. Just that I have met him.
