Gimli (Dwarf) = Sallah in Raiders of the Lost Ark

It's been a long time since I've seen him, but it's true:

The actor that played Sallah (Indy's Arabic right-hand man) in Raiders of the Lost Ark is played by John Rhys-Davies.

The only difference is that he's more than 20 years older and likely filming many of his scenes on his knees.

if u watch the commentaries for lotr fotr special edition merry teases him bout his lines in it and did ya hear he is going to be in the nxt indiana jones as the same charachter

Still on the same subject of past careers; Did you know Sean Bean (Boromir) played Sharpe in the many films?

If so you may notice a degree of irony in Boromir's line in Rivendell during the Fellowship, '...still sharp...', or should that be '...still Sharpe...'.

Perhaps this is yet another joke for the enthusiasts slipped in by Jackson, or perhaps just coincidence.
