Well, to be honest, he danced extremely well, but, whether it was his choice of songs, or not, an unbiased opinion is that his singing was GAWD awful. And, in order to compete, you need to be at your best, when it counts, and he wasn't. And, that is an honest opinion, totally unbiased.

Reply To this Message

Posted by: Christalena

i can't believe ryan didn't get picked!! he was seriously the best!!! i'm used to live in diamondhead... i don't know if i've ever met you patti. i went to hancock with ryan back in the day. he is going places though... those judges just don't know crap.... he was wonderful!!!! <3 Christina

Reply To this Message

Posted by: Christalena

NEM you are wrong... his singing was awesome!! he is the only one that actually has the triple threat. no one else could sing AND dance. and this is not a biased opinion, i sing and i thought he sounded great. the only one that was picked last night that was worthy was serena. she was awesome. the other two, i can't say the same for.

Can you, honestly, say that your opinion is unbiased, especially where you, personally know him.

Maybe GAWD Awful is a little strong, but based his overall performance LAST NIGHT, the decision to not have him go on was the correct one.

Maybe you have seen him at a better moment, but last night's performance did not warrant him going to the next level.

YES I GUESS THATS WHY HE WAS CHOSEN TO BE IN THE GROUP DREAMSTREET WITH CHRIS TROUSDALE FROM NEW YORK.THIS IS YOUR OPINION AND JOHNNY SAID HIS VOICE QUALITY IS GREAT THANKS FOR YOUR OPINION.REMEMBER THAT THESE 24 CONTESTANTS WERE CHOSEN BECAUSE THEY WERE THE BEST OUT OF 5000 PEOPLE.WHERE WOULD YOU FINISH IF YOU HAD AUDITIONED??? THESE 24 ARE VERY OUTSTANDING AND IF THEY KEEP THEIR DREAMS ALIVE THEY WILL SUCCEED .I KNOW RYAN WILL!!!YOU CAN TAKE IT TO THE BANK.YOU DON'T KNOW RYAN AND I KNOW HE CAN SING AND NOBODY CAN HOLD A CANDLE TO HIS DANCING HE HAS COMPETED ALL OVER THE STATES AND ALWAYS PLACED.THIS CHILD HAS TALENT IMPROVE IN SOME .HE IS HARD ON HIS SELF AND THE NEXT TIME YOU SEE HIM YOU WILL SEE WHAT I MEAN.THIS IS NOT THE END OF RYAN CHOTTO, REMEMBER THE NAME RYAN CHOTTO!!!!!!

well you need to take another look, Christalena! I was pulling for Ryan too. My in laws live in DH & I am from the area as well. 9do you know Ian Miller too?) Ryan is without a doubt talented but he is a DANCER who can sing and will do very well in NY! He should have presented himself a as little more masculine - he should Not have worn his jazz shoes for his singing solo! He is a DANCER!!! Brandon, however, is someone that can compare to Justin Timberlake, or Usher!!He is triple threat - very strong in stage presence , vocals & dancing! He is technically trained as well - taking ballet classes everyday - along with jazz, tap & hip hop! Yes i know him personally - but u will see as time goes on that he is the package they are looking for!!! But I am SCARED OF SERENA!!!!! Now that Ryan is out, she is his competition so far!!!!!!

Patti, let me repeat myself, one more time.

What you say may be true.

And, he may go on and be a star, maybe not.

But, the point is.... last night's decision was based on last night's OVERALL performance, and he didn't cut it last night.

In order to move on, you had better be able to perform at your peak at the right time, and he didn't.

And, as far as last night's program is concerned, that is all that counts.

He did not deserve to move on, based on his performance last night.

He may do better at another time, he may not.

And, that is HONESTY, not BIAS.

CHRISTALENA, YOU ARE RIGHT.I DO NOT THINK I'VE MET YOU EITHER. I AM RYAN'S STEP-MOTHER .THESE ARE OPINIONS PEOPLE WILL ALWAYS HAVE THEM AND IF THEY ARE THAT BLIND AND COULD NOT SEE THAT THIS CHILD WAS BY FAR THE BEST THEN SO BE IT.I DON'T BELIEVE ANY ONE IN THIS SHOW WILL EVER HAVE HIS DANCING ABILITY.HE IS A TRI THREAT .RYAN IS GREAT AND WILL MAKE IT... ONLY 1 OF 12 WILL MAKE IT SO ARE THE OTHER 11 NOT NOTHING WHAT EVER!! RYAN IS THE BESTAND HE IS NOT JUST A DANCER HE IS A SINGER THE NEW FORMER DREAMSTREET GUY ,AN ACTOR AND A VERY WONDERFUL PERSON WITH ALOT OF PERSONALITY.HEY BRITTNEY SPEARS DID NOT MAKE IT ON STAR SEARCH EITHER LOOK WHERE SHE IS NOW .SO SMOKE THAT

Patti, I unbderstand where you are coming from. I would probably say the same thing if it were my kid. It is very hard to be UNbiased in that situation.

However, the decision was the correct one. LAST NIGHT HE DID NOT PERFORM WELL ENOUGH TO GO ON TO THE NEXT LEVEL.

Now, he may be, as you say, a GREAT performer. Time will tell.
I can tell you this, as an unbiased person, he will have to do a hell of a lot better than he did last night.

patti we cant blame you for defending your stepson like it is but please be open to other people's views. if i were in your place i would be as mad crazy supporting for my relations too but making verbal jabs to other people's independent opinion which they are entitled to are not very endearing! ryan chotto is a very lucky person to have a very dedicated stepmom like yourself but they you handle ryan's thread is hurting the main point, that is--holding a forum from supporters and critics alike which will contribute to ryan's growth as an artist.

Patti, that's exactly the point. I ONLY saw him LAST NIGHT, and last night's decision was based on last night's performance, and that is allthat matters.

And, I dont act as a "know it all", I am giving you an UNBIASED opinion.....

And, apparently, the judges agreed. Last night, he didn'
t perform well enough to move on, and that is ALL the program is about and that is all this discussion should be about....LAST NIGHT...not tomorrow, not next week, not next year...

He may end up being a star, and he may not...that is something we can not foresee...

However, i will tell you this, he needs to do better than he did last night...and you, as a mother , if you dont get down to reality, and accept what happens, you will hinder him, more than help him.

If I have a kid that I know can do better, but strikes out too much, I will criticize him for his bad batting performance, but, i will also work to make it better the next time he goes to the plate.

You should be doing the same thing.

Open your eyes to reality, last night, HE JUST WASNT GOOD ENOUGH.

Hi, I live in a small town in KY, and I too have big dreams of one day performing on Broadway. I thought Ryan was awesome last night, and definately should have moved on. He may not have sounded the greatest on his solo (but still VERY good), but I think he totally made up for it on his solo part with the group. He was right on the money when he started singing. His stage presence and at that moment totally demanded the audiences attention (especially mine). While he was doing his thing you completely forgot the other performers were on stage with him.

Last night I thought his sweetness and charm really shone out, and you could just tell he has a very sensitive and caring soul. Not to mention the "fact" that he is totally adorable, ehem, especially in the opening number when his shirt was unbuttoned at the bottom a little. SO CUTE!

I think it totally sucks that he didn't make the cut last night. I was SOOO looking forward to watching him on the show. I completely fell in love with him. (And yes I am a guy. :P)

Peace & Love,
Eric

PS. Does he have a homepage or anything? If not I think we should make a fan site dedicated to him to show our support. What do you think?

Also, does anyone know where I can find MP3s of the performances on Fame? I had no trouble finding MP3s for American Idol, but I can't find any for Fame.

I know what disappointment is like. In my hometown, at performances I've been in, after the show I am always showered with compliments. So, I decided to finally take a step toward bigger things, and try to break out of the safety of my town and familiarity. I went to Nashville and auditioned for this past American Idol. I was totally psyched. I told all kinds of people I was going. Everyone just knew I would make it.

Well, this was my first "big" audition for anything. I was so nervous. We had to audition in a room with 3 AI people, and 4 other hopefuls. I was SO nervous, I totally choked. I started out in too low of a key, so I couldn't really show my range or have much volume. I was so disappointed in myself, and I felt I let everyone down (including my mom). I didn't talk at all on the 4 hour trip back home, and I didn't sing for a few months.

So I could totally feel Ryan last night when he didn't get picked. I was ready to cry myself.

And yes I do know a little about building webpages. I could get one started. Do you have pics, etc. you could e-mail me to put on it? It would be an honour to make a fan site for Ryan.

Peace & Love,
Eric

The only one who lost so far that should have won, should have won over the last female who was the worst of all the contestants last night. It seems like the show is trying to keep a 50/50 balance of contestants.

I know that Ryan will go far. I was so excited to even see him on T.V. for the firsy time. It was so cool seeing someone you know on T.V. like that. Ryan blew everyone out of the water last night with his dancing. He is a great singer also, although i have seen him dance more than sing. I miss dancing with him and competing all over. He is great and he will go far. I know he probably got emotional last night after he got cut, but this is not the end for him. It is just the beginning. Good luck!!!!

Just found this site and I am sooooo glad to see other people who agree with me. Ryan was awesome..As a dancer myself..I was like..mouth open watching his dancing.. It was amazing definitly his strong point. As for singing I think he did a great job. I did notice though, when on the first show he was auditioning his voice sounded even better then it did onstage..Its possible nerves or whatever..I still think he should have made the cut.
Who said he needs a fansite? I totally agree...I will be willing to help out with a fansite..But I would like to get pictures etc..Info.. Maybe someone could help me? Anywho..GO RYAN!! You rock

He immediately stood out and grabbed my attention. Please tell him directly that my family and I were all cheering him on and thought he was a serious contender. Tell him to keep his dreams alive!

Also, Patti, could you email me? I don't know what kind of career/school aspirations he has. But I've been in the industry awhile and I may have a very decent opportunity for him, especially if he's wanting to go to college. PRELUDECRS@HOTMAIL.COM I only help out those I think are really talented and he definitely caught my attention.

Ryan is my brother...not by blood. Everyone who tuned in knows he was robbed. Walking down the street last night he was stopped and told those exact words, "You were robbed man." It's no secret. I smell a rat...or maybe it's Carnie Wilson's lard that was removed during lipo. Who knows?

Darn, are you lucky! Patti, if I would've known he was coming home you probably would've had a surprise visitor! I want to meet this young man before he's REALLY famous and I can't even get near him! I need to seriously shake his hand!

Patti: Hi! My name is Colleen. I am 15 and from NJ. I just HAVE to tell you that I admire your son so much. I first heard of Ryan through Dream Street's songwriters, Berny and Kevin. They had nothing but wonderful things to say about him! I anxiously awaited the release of the Dream Street magazine so I could see him for myself. There's just something about his look that got me hooked! From that point on, I was a fan of his. Then I got to see him live on December 29th in Philly for one of Chris's screenings. It was honestly one of the best days of my life, and I know that I will never ever forget it! Watching Ryan dance on stage was AWESOME! he was so amazing! although Chris was dancing there right in front of me, Ryan kept catching my eye! I have to say, that there's definitely a golden opportunity there with DSE. They are very professional and know what they are doing!! Chris is just getting started out, and he will be huge in no time! For Ryan to be a part of this is just amazing. I talked to Claudia at the screening, and she also glowed with comments on Ryan. And she mentioned the possibilites with the new Dream Street. I really hope that works out!!! The breakup with the original Dream Street was definitely hard to deal with, but I have a feeling the second one will be better than ever! Honestly, when I met Ryan, he was just one of the sweetest guys ever! He was just walking around the lobby of the theatre while all the fans waited anxiously to meet Chris, and my friends and I spotted him, and started chatting with him. He posed for pictures with us, and signed autographs for us. And then, he decided to hang out with us! He went out of his way to be nice to us, and I really admired that. I still think about that day everyday. Ryan will definitely go far in life, and FAME made a big mistake. My friend and I are currently in the process of running a Yahoo! group for Ryan. It is just getting started out! It's basically like a message board but the messages get delievered to your email. We would be honored if you would join!!! The site is www.yahoogroups.com/group/ryan-chotto You have to have a Yahoo ID to join, but it is quick, free, and easy to make! If you have any questions, please respond and I will leave you my email address and we can chat! I have quite a few questions for you!! Thanks a bunch!!! <3Colleen

I felt the same about Ryan Chotto as Debbie Allen did as she was describing him in the first show... In part two I felt the judges were a bit harsh on him--emphasizing his dancing (& supposedly not so strong vocals)... Anyone who watched the first competition (of 6?) would have done what Ryan did... Judges kept emphasizing they wanted to see dancing in addition to the singing, so I can see that's why Ryan went with Dancing in the Street as opposed to a more mellow song or a ballad. He still have something special which sets him apart from all the others... He is THE TRIPPLE THREAT!!!
