Is it possible to copy gamecube games? If so, how?

You can purchase those mini-cds as recordable media, but i haven't seen them in DVD.
Assuming they come out with miniDVDs and you have a DVD burner you probably could with a patch for the creation software -

So is there an actual process to copy Gamecube games? I have a few I'd like to try with. Is there any special software you need? Do you need to modify the gamecube before you can use the backups? Ie, Modchip, gamehsark, etc........ I put a gamecube cd into my cd drive but my computer wouldnt read it. Didnt see the cd in the drive.

Mini DVD-Rs 1.47gb 8cm can be purchased from www.meritline .com for approx 3.94 each.

Hey why use mini DVD-Rs when u can use a maxell min CD-Rs? They have about 210mb to 500 mb I think it well read it if i can only find that missing software for encoding whats on the gamecube games. You know now a days they put codes on the games so you cant copy a gamecube game unless u have a encoder to break it.

I read that the gamecube discs hold 1.5 gb of data. The closest thing I could find to hold that much data on the small disc was the mini dvd's. you are right about the encoding, so far I cant find any program to even recognize my gamecube disks, with the exeption of Nero express. It recognizes it as an image type format.

So basicaloly there's no way to copy these games at this present time? Too bad. Sooner or later someone will figure it out.

www.blade.cc says they can be copied. I have also read that they are able to make copies in japan. I dont know if they use a certain type of dvd burner / player. they say it is definitly dvd. I have ordered a new dvd burner and I have been able to get some sort of image file from the gamecube disc from my dvd player using nero. I dont know yet if the gamecube will require a mod chip or wiring modifications, If I have any success or find out anything of intrest I will post it.

I tried to use the mini dvds from meritline today. They claim to hold 1.47 gb of data. They do not have sufficient space. checked the usable data size in B's Recorder Gold and found only 1.3 gb of space. I found a new site today claiming to have mini dvd's 1.5 gb in size compatible with gamecube games. www.hobbymagic.com the cost per disc is approx $8.00. if anyone can find them cheaper please post.

Ok well i found out some info on the machine to burn game cube games and your not gonna like it but they cost $75,000 basicly those are the only ones that can burn them right well if i was rich i would get me one but thats up to you?

The 75,000 dollar machine you are refering to, is the original stamping machine that nintendo uses to make the originals. Trust me, when we can properly read the gamecube format on a PC we will be able to burn a replicate on mini dvd.

I was checking some AOL cerver and I found some Gamecube games on the list. I found Zelda, Metroid, Eternal Darkness and Pikmin. I haven't download them yet..

Don't know how they ripped the game, but it's possible.

It is really not that hard copying/burning games. I`ve found som ISO`s that work fine. The hard thing is to actually get the `Cube to play them!

okay i own every console out dere but a stupid ****in gamecube ... and someone from the top of this thread posted luck with recognition of the GC games on nero express ... well they were stupid and turned their back on dat thought. meanwhile, i already knew da solution to burning games ... the upcoming nero 6 ... yah and its officially out only for retail, you can't download it as trial off nero's site anymore ... either cuz nero doesnt want ppl to d/l and crack it just like da last release, or dat they haven't gotten around to making a trial version or posting it on their site. anyways, matter of fact is, i didnt buy it, i got it in parts off www.bugz.ru - and da site is in another language but the nero 6 parts 1, 2, and 3 lines cant be missed. download dem all, unrar dem to your desktop, run setup (just remember to uninstall your older version of nero first...otherwise its gonna lock down after installation - one of nero's new crack protection methods to make sure freeloaders of da last release get neither da new version upgrade nor the old version cracked trial...if you had old full version den dont uninstall and do an upgrade and your old cd key shall be used), use da serial key from da read-me in da setup, and wait for it to finish. now, run nerosmart (project selector just like in ez cd creator - heh, nero's finally catchin up) and pick advanced mode and go to da video and photos tab and now pick minidvd (which wouldnt be dere if u hadnt picked advanced mode) ... OKAY MORONS, now you can put your ****in GC game in da ****in dvd rom driver or dvd +r/+rw/-r/+rw burner you have, and do a complete image extraction (and now you morons know how da ppl on mirc get deir GC games on their computers and spread dem all over da net ... and they're surprisingly REAL COPIES ... you morons just dont have the right software, much less the 75 GRAND ... hahaha oh god dats too funny...all of u probably bought da "official", "exclusive", "lean", "unparalled" minidvd copier - just cuz someone on da thread said DATS DA ONLY WAY U DUMBASSSES ... well he was right bout one thing ...). Anyways, just cuz its an .nrg file doesn't mean it can't be converted to main formats such as ISO or BIN/CUE (for da cue, ull have to use cdmage after you have generated .bin file) ... i know there's lots of programs to da converting which many ppl on mirc do and many dont (some are lifeless and some are not). okay, now you have to have a dvd burner drive dat can burn to EVERYTHING (yes, i mean dvd+r/+rw/-r/-rw, and even dvd-ram). den, you buy some mini-dvds (i think at dis point of da dvd generation, we all know dat media doesnt matter when it comes to mini-dvds ... ud be lucky enuff to even find em at a store, much less to worry if the brand even exists or if its from indonesia or antarctica or BOTH ). okay, jow just select burn from image on nero express 6 and you're done. as for modchips, there's one comin out but you dont need it to play mini-dvd's lmfao ... you need it to play mini-cd's! yah, so u can actually put da game in parts and no longer need a dvd burner, but rather just a dvd rom drive, but im not sure if you need a computer yet ... ohh umm das a joke! so, anyways, hope you enjoy your new GC games, and i do think da new versions of GC (u know ... like by manufacturer date) have new copy protection but im positive nintendo didnt think we would make it dis far as it is with da copying of da games and so on or even da new development of modchips, but now dat theyre catching up, try to get one of da older GCs (not da ones in store now) as fast as u can (id say bout Q1-Q3 of 2002 would work if das what it says under da gamecube on da serial number sticker), or JUST GET ANOTHER CONSOLE IDIOTS...i mean gamecube's graphics arent da best nor is its CPU or storage methods or compatibility with mod-chips and burnt material, besides all of da games have copies dat go to da other consoles except games created by da nintendo staff ... das all, im outz, and enjoy ... die happy ... not proud ...

nero 6 trial should be available on deir site by july 19, 2003 since today is july 18, 2003 , the OFFICIAL RELEASE OF BOTH DA TRIAL AND RETAIL VERSIONS OF NERO 6. well i still suggest u d/l da one i previously posted from www.bugz.ru, because a) its da full version wit da serial (which is all u need, and in trial u need both user name and serial number dat are matching in terms of deir coding and processing in order for da program to be unlocked), b) ALL da plug-ins are already dere (s-vcd mpeg-2, vcd mpeg-1, all new HH-AAC MP4 PLUGIN which is new generation of audio compression replacing its successor MP3, and ALL NEW MPEG-4 plugin for converting divx, xvid, asf, rm, mov, and yo mama if she's mpeg-4 format, and of course da mp3pro, normal mp3, wav, and wma plugins), and as soon as da trial version of nerovision express 2 comes out, u can d/l it too and it will automatically make itself part of da retail version (its da second CD in da retail box but da download i gave u ppl is only da first CD ... nero and nero express 6 and ALL of da new nero products except nerovision express which is AMAZING AND REQUIRED are in da download i gave u... but U HAVE TO GET NERO VISION EXPRESS 6.0 VERSION .... i think i could get the serial number form them but luckly iam not behind i been head nero 5 soo just need to get nero 6 i d/l for free then go into its files and find the resgistering thing or serial then place it on there register thing and i got it free unless u told me that they dont come with that thing for that yet they have to or they wouldnt be sellign it right?

p.s. okay, just kiddin, u put in da serial during da installation (it will only ask u for serial if u have no other version of nero installed - basically if it doesnt ask u and u dont put it in, nero will be locked down forever ... OH NO ITS ALL OVER!!!), so make sure it asks u for serial and make sure uninstall older version of nero....although i have to admit i LOVED nero 5, i like da number 6 better dan 5...so nero 6 has just earned its place in ma heart . hey, what software do you guys use to make an image of the gamecube games? i have dvd drive with clone cd, but apparently, the "leaving open tray clonecd" technique doesn't work. or maybe i'm just doing it wrong.

someone wanna shed some light on me?

Has anyone had any success copying the gamecube games? Which miniDVD-r media did you use? Does the Ritek work? Technically it's only 1.46GB so I'm not sure if I should special order them if it isn't going to work.

have you guys heard of freeloader
it allows you to play games from any region the gamecube does not check the region (the barcode) from what i read so you can play them chek out this site

my point is since the freeloader can do such a thing without having to modify the hardwarei think it may be must be possible to make such a disk wich will allow the cube to play home copied/burned game
i am not an expert in computer programming but maybe it is possible to rip the freeloader disc and imitate and modify it's program to allow the system to add no region to the menu sceen . it allows you to choose the region the game is in chek the link

Hey, I'm trying to figuier out how to burn gamecube games and haven't had any success. I have Nero 6 and can't figuier out how to make a complete image extraction onto my computer.
Can anyone explain how to do this?

it doesn't work. My new LG +-R,+-RW,-RAM DVD-burner can't find the gamecube-disks. Neither does my old dvd-rom.
The trick with the mini-dvd in nero6 does not work either ... it just for burning dvd-vobs on normal CDs.
So first .... how to read these little cute disks!?!

ok, a cypher is a security mainframe dat is also incorporated into games by game console companies ... here are all da cyphers ull come across:

DVD - 32 to 72-bit
GC Games - 40 to 64-bit
PS2 Games - 32 to 64-bit
XBOX Games - 32 to 64-bit
PC Games/Software - 0 to 128-bit

hmmm dose are all results i got by maself .... but dey are completely trustworthy and u shouldnt know about or of dem cuz its way tooooo illegal to try to even understand more about security cyphers ... anyways, now dat i warned, les GET CRACKING MA DEAR SWEETHEARTS (or is it OUTLAWS?) .... lmfao .... ok smartripper is da best dvd encrypter so i used it for everythin else dats dvd ... minidvd by da way are da exact same as dvd's except deir capacity and da fact dat dey are harder to find in blank format for personal recording purposes .... so now d/l and open smartripper 2.41 (first put minidvd in), go to files tab, select all, go to browse at da bottom and select ur output folder, den press START ... ok now ur dvd is being ripped (decrypted and copied to ur hard drive) ... when it completes, open nero, go to expert mode, go to photos and video tab, select make minidvd, and now open da GC original minidvd (dat is still in ur drive) and see where all da files dat u decrypted and copied (or ripped) go in da new minidvd (either VIDEO_TS folder or AUDIO_TS) ... den hit burn and ur done!

ohhhhh uhhh u might wanna return da blockbuster GC rental now .... dey close at midnight .... all da nerds are like OHHHH ****! HE'S ALWAYS RIGHT ....
