Does anyone know what to do in the church. I cant open the tombstone to willard

vidar,go to the back of the cross and you'll see the hand sign come up, and the cross will fall over and smash the "tombstone

im at the part where u can swim through the well at the sanctuary level and then u shoot two guards and blah te blah and there is nothing there.... ive tried the hook and everything but nothin' ever happens WHAT AM I TO DO??? HELP!!!!
