The Baptist group passed a resolution atoning for Britain's slave trade in 2007.
In march of 2007, then- British Prime Minister expressed deep sorrow on 200th anniversary of law that was said to have ended the slave trade, but refused to make a direct apology.
March 25 , 1807, Britain's Slave Trade Act is said to have prohibited British ships from transporting slaves, but Britain did not abolish slavery in its oversees territories until 1833.
