| Study by the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund ):
The Palestinian economy worsened because of the embargo spearheaded by Isreal, EU, and United States.
Palestinians have been living under international sanctions imposed by Isreal, US and the EU for voting for the Islamic Resistance Movement (HAMAS) in 2006. ( The United States, EU and Israel classify Hamas as a terrorist organization)
The World Bank estimates about half of the Palestine's budget - befire Hamas won elections- came from international donors.
" Production has been lost due to outright destructon of physical infrastructure and assets, or by the numerous (Israeli) closures and (so-called) checkpoints, the shortage of funds to finance government spending."
Most funds given today are channeled through (Fatah President) Abbas, who Washington and Israel favor.
Isreal says it gave Abbas $100 million, but keeping $475 million belonging to Palestinian citizens.
Palestinian citizens are hit the hardest by embargo. The World Food Program warned that rising poverty were threatening "food security" for the country.
Only through humanitarian aid and STRONG SOLIDARITY among Palestians that the poor managed to avoid STARVATION (in 2006.)
