Huge News about a new State?

It looks like U.S. Secretary of State Rice is doing, literally, everything she can to produce a new state for Palestine.

This could significantly reduce violence in the region, and mean that the U.S. will have to support both groups. I'm totally in favor of this, and from the article it actually looks like it will happen. Could this action lead to history looking kindly on this administration?

I wouldn't be too overoptimistic, but let's see.
