I wish more will follow( every Black prson should have copy) . It would help understand US better.

When are we going to have a Malcolm X Day? He never commited violent act. He was popular around the world. He never cheated on wife or did anything immoral. Ossie Davis gives resons better in his famous eulogy of Brother Malcolm.

www.cmgww.com/historic/malcolm/about/eulogy.htm

" In all honesty and sinserity, it can be stated that I wish nothing but freedom, justice and equality: life liberty and the pursuit of happiness for all people" malcolm x [ Sounds like Brother Martin. They were beggining to sound alike before assisination]

If you think he was, give us some PROOF. This is propaganda created by conservative media.

Doesn't he use the word White Devils in his autobigraphy I seem to rememember reading that in thier somewhere also this is the same guy that did not belive whites were trying to herlp blacks, he reveled in his stories about how he tricked white people, when a white co ed asked him " what can I do to help" he replied "nothing"Did he not argue for the nation of Islams idea of Black nationalistic politics, black economy and black society this is what he said about the civil rights revolution " the real revolutions are the French and American revolutions and there can be no revolution without bloodshed" what did he mean by that?

The truth about Macolm X is that until he broke away from the nation of Islam he was a violent racist it was not until many yeard after he broke away from the NOI that he realised his views on whites were skewed.

Personally I think had Malcolm X followed the belifs of Dr King the he may have been a more important figure in world history than he is. His speaking was perfect he knew how to captivate an audience and he was no fool he went to prison and drug dealin illeterat and came out a clean, well read individual who only mistake was joining the NOI while inside.

Lets PRETEND what your saying is true.

Critical words ( taken out context) of someone is not proof someone has done an violent act. If your illogic was true , then you are guilty of violence against me

Who said anything abut violent act? when I said violent racist I meant violent as in intense and he was an intense racist in what he said and did.

Nothing I said is a lie it's all fact he DID say those things wether you like it or not and he was a drug dealing illeterate wether you like it or not and he was a member of the NOI wether you like it or not and he should have followed the path of Dr King wether you like it or not.

You know the funny thing about Malcolm X was that when he went on speaking tours he told blacks that they had been brainwashed by whites into beliveing they were no good now the irony is this many people belive that he himslef had been brainwshed by the NOI now your going to deny that as soon as you read but look at his quotes during and after his involvement with the NOI he softems in a way is not as intnse or racist now ask yourself why change is it because he was no more than an NOI mouthpiece certaiunly a lot of his ideas black economy etc are NOI ideas aren't they?

I'd say he was pretty racist but when he did his Pilgrimage to Mecca he felt real brotherhood from white people, and his views were transformed.

Unfortunately he was assassinated soon after.

His biggest problem was deifying a man (Elijah Mohammed).

Ultimately he did a lot of good. But wasn't it crossing the Muslim's that got him shot?

Elijah Mohammed, the founder of Nation of Islam, was supposedly some kind of Holy Prophet on par with Jesus or Mohammed.

Well years down the road rumors started going around that he had been sleeping with some of the Sisters at one of the Temples and they had kids of his.

Instead of coming out about it, Elijah Mohammed tried to suppress it. Malcolm X found out about it, but didn't wish to shame Elijah Mohammed, but it still made Elijah Mohammed nervous. Also Elijah Mohammed was getting jealous because Malcolm X was more famous than him. So he basically got exiled from Nation of Islam and after he went to Mecca and reformed he started chaning his message and I guess they decided to off him.

I believe the NOI was directly responsible for Malcolm’s death mostly for the reasons Dekka00 mentioned above. It was upon the informal orders of E.M. in which Malcolm met his demise. I also believe there was some collaboration between members of NOI and the FBI & CIA. Though I believe they weren’t involved in planning Malcolm’s death, they most certainly knew of it but kept silent.

Now I know some may think that’s a bit far fetched but the FBI did the same thing in the 60’s to the Panther movement. Visions of so many blacks with arms didn’t fair well in the psyches of white America so they planted propaganda in the media in hopes of dividing them and they succeeded. This manifested into what we see as gang violence during the late 60’s and even until today.

In short, the US government was afraid of leaders of the black community. MLK, X & NOI was thoroughly watched during this particular era with diligence, trying to detect illegal activities or plots to commit violence against whites or our government.

Martin AND Malcolm

" I'm for TRUTH, no matter who tells it. I'm for JUSTICE, no matter who it is or against. I'm a human being first and foremost, and as such I'm for whoever and whatever benifits HUMANITY as a whole"

Malcolm X Day is inevitable. Powerful statements like this are timeless.
