Baby accidentally put in airport X-ray

LOS ANGELES - A woman mistakenly put her 1-month-old grandson through an X-ray machine at Los Angeles International Airport, authorities said. A startled security worker noticed the shape of a child on the carry-on baggage screening monitor and immediately pulled him out, the Los Angeles Times reported for a story in Wednesday's editions. The infant was taken to a local hospital, where doctors determined he did not receive a dangerous dose of radiation. "This was an innocent mistake by an obviously inexperienced traveler," said Paul Haney, deputy executive director of airports and security for the city's airport agency. The incident happened early Saturday, airport officials said. Haney said in 1988, an infant in a car seat went through an X-ray machine at the Los Angeles airport.

This sounds like the start of a superhero movie. Like the kid was put in an X-Ray machine and grew up to be: X-RAY MAN!

So would they be transparent or could X-Ray Man see through stuff? This is going to bug me all day.

Poor kid. I am still amazed on how stupid people can be. It's incredible. You need a license to drive, get married, hunt, fish but any dipstick can squeeze out a kid and put them through a freakin' X-Ray machine. I hate people sometimes.

You know... good point, Heck! There should be a license required to birth a baby. Damn dumb ass people. Put your kid through because you're an unexperienced traveler??? Give me a break. Bunch of if you ask me. They just didn't bother to pay attention.

So what's next, someone checks their baby with the luggage? Stuffs them in the overhead compartment? Uses them as a flotation device? Weak.

Actually it was the grandmother not the mother. How old was this woman? Maybe she is going senile and she thought the baby was a purse?

I think it was a smart idea. Doctors charge a lot for X-rays, this one was free.

This is an example of why we need forced sterilization. That's about the only way your gonna prevent stupid people from having kids. But they've tried that before, it don't fly.

This was a really stupid thing, but I'm courious to know if the grandma thought she was supposed to pu the kid through or not. It could have been an honest mistake, a very stupid honest mistake. Think about it. The lady is in the airport, it crowded, they are going through security, she trying to get all her junk together so she puts the baby down in front of her, but oh no that belt is a movin and the baby's in the xray machine. It's a little far fetched but I could see someone whos older making that kind of mistake.

It's just a good thing the baby's alright. If I was the mom, I'd have to think long and hard before letting baby go off whit grandma again.

Wouldn't the x-ray screener get a shock. They're like, "suitcase, purse, suitcase, baby, suitcase, purse..."
