Tabin Amin, Idi Amin's son, says permission wasn't given to use their father's image or name. He said the family at the least deseverd compensation from film or they will sue.

What parts are fiction? I am curious to know. Please explain because the thread title and what you posted are two different subjects. Thanks.

The truth is that Tabin Adim will get sewwt FA from the film makers for 2 reasons 1. I am pretty sure it is practically impossible to copyright a person let alone an image. and 2. the film is based a book by a writer called Giles Foden, this book admits that it is part fiction, howevere evryone agrees that there are parts of the film that are historical fact.

What parts are historical facts? The Entebee incident was a fact that has never been investigated. Why wasn't this mention?

A fact that has never been investigated. Hmmm....

A FACT is something that actually exists; reality; truth: in fact.
OR something known to exist or to have happened.

That would make it NON-FICTION, but you claim it is "fiction" from the title of the thread.

Can you still clarify what parts you feel are fiction? I'm interested in seeing this movie, so I'd like to hear the pros and cons from someone who seems to a supporter of Idi Amin and his legacy.

Thanks

Ok malcolm you list every incident in the book or the film that is not fact every incident but remeber that the book is part fiction part fact so you are going to get aspects of that in the fil are you not. Shockingly enough there is actually no Dr Garrigan either. Also this is not a Scottish film it's an English It's not even about Scotland it is about a fictional Scot that goes to Uganda and because Idi Amin was obssesed with all things Scottish ( fact) takes a shine to him and lets him make some important descions and by the time the Dr realises what an animal Amin is he is in to deep.

Heck I have never bad mouthed the staes man I exoect quotes like that from Malcolm, hell even Joe never went to the extent of slagging Scotland.

Again you spin my words to be critical of your country. I know understand how Sen. Kerry is feeling.

"Scotland" movie is short for " King of Scotland " movie. How am I crticicizing Scotland?

There are plenty of people aware of ENtebbe raid. Because you are not doesn't mean it didn't happen. You need clarification in definition of a fact.

Malcol all I am asking is why you need to put Scotland before it the rest of the title? You could have said last king of Scotland film is fiction when you put Scotland in fron of it you kind of make people think that there is a direct Scottish link to the fil when we know that is not true.

A little thought- what tartan did Amin wear because he was not linked to any clan.

I didn't say I wasn't aware of the raid on Entebbe. I am trying to figure out what you claim is "fiction" in the movie "Last King of Scotland". What the heck are you saying anyway?
