Mokap is a character from the Mortal Kombat fighting game series.

About Mokap
A former martial arts teacher on the North side of Chicago, the man commonly referred to as Mokap was called upon by Johnny Cage to do some motion capture work for his new movie "Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance." Mokap was flown to Hollywood to begin his first session, which consisted mainly of the Crane and Snake styles. Although many other martial artists were used, Mokap was brought in repeatedly for his vast knowledge of fighting techniques.

Mokap was the primary martial arts talent for motion capture during the production of Johnny Cage's movie based on recent events in Outworld. He was referred to the game designers at Midway Games and used in the production of the Video Game adaptation of the movie.

Mokap will return in the upcoming Mortal Kombat: Armageddon.

Trivia
His staus within the MK storyline is uncertain. He appears to be part of the canon plot without actually being involved with the main events themselves. He is considered mostly a joke character.
Mokap's name is short for motion capture, as in the devices used by the actors to capture the movements of characters in the game. Lightbulbs are shown in the dark to show movements implemented into a fighter which is a joke in the name and creation of Mokap (motion capture).
He is a tribute to Carlos Pesina, the actor who plays Raiden in MK, MK2 and MKT.
Mokap also had a cameo appearance (like most characters from the series) in the game Mortal Kombat: Deception. He appears in the realm of Order and if hit, will unlock a martial art video. He can also be seen in the realm of Chaos, after you hide the map to Earthrealm in the temple. Once you do that, Mokap will ask you to get the map for him. Punch him here, and he will respond, saying, "OH! MY BALLS!"
His presence as a secret character in Deadly Alliance was not met with great enthusiasm by fans.
