Thoughts on the popular sketch comedy show.

-HECK!

You know, my answer isn't up there. I think that it's a good show, though it's not as good, because of the cast changes (in my opinion). I would watch it, but I'm either asleep, or I just honestly don't think about it.

I used to love this show. Back in the day my and the peeps would tape it and watch it when we got home from the bar. Now I could give two nipple twists about it.

It's not even funny on accident. The sketches aren't funny. The cast isn't funny. Usually one of those two can carry the other when things go south.

Tina Fey exiting as head writer and giving up the Update chair is certainly a step in the right direction.

I tried to watch a few episodes this season after the cast shakeup but I hardly cracked a smile. This show has turned into a hour and a half long sleeping pill.

While I am a Horation Sanz fan, dumping him was probably best. Him and Fallon laughing through sketches time after time became very tiresome.

Meanwhile Chris Parnell leaving, on the face of it, looks like a bad move. He's one of the best character actors on the show. But for whatever reason Lorne Michaels would rather bow down to Darrell Hammond and his half-ass effort each week.

It's becoming inreasingly evident that Amy Poehler is one of the 'lead' cast members on the show. What's more evident is that she's best in small doses. Same voice, same mannerisms, same character every time, only the wardrobe changes.

There aren't many bright spots on the show. Nothing to look forward too. The once edgy show borders is about as daring as an episode of Reno 911. Even Mad TV is looking lessy crappy by comparison.

Here's to Lorne tossing an ad in the Village Voice seeking a "new writer, must be funny."

I tune in if bored, and catch parts of it, if it's an off night, I turn it off. I very rarely watch the whole thing.


I almost never laugh.

Used to love it, it goes through waves, and glad tina fey is gone.


Incidently, I found out a couple of days ago Season 1 (the entire thing) will be on DVD soon. Season 1 cast is classic, so it may be worth getting.

The original cast... and those that followed shortly after, were the best.



Am I the only person who actually LIKES Tina Fey?

Season 1 was incredible. Totally redefined late night television.

And Lawless, yes, you are the only one I just cannot stand her. She was the head writer so I pin the extreme suckiness of SNL on her shoulders.

I just liked watching her do the news. Sorry, I like her.

i used to love it. it's gone in waves. now it's just so unfunny. I didn't like Tina Fey much either. and her new show sucks so bad there isn't even a word for it. I like Amy Poehler. I liked Parnell and Finesse Mitchell. I watch it if i'm home and there's nothing else to watch. Usually I change it like 20 minutes into it and i haven't laughed once. they rerun the classic ones sometimes here after snl - with bill murray and gilda radner and such. I looooved the ones with mike meyers, dana carvey and phil hartman. Even will ferrell times were alright.

I like Amy Poehler and Will Ferral. That's about it. I like Hiratio but they fired him this season.

Uh, I just remembered, Will aint even on it anymore. Shows what I know...

Maybe when he gets bit by a rabid racoon he is Will Feral, but normally he's just Will Ferrell.

Ferrell was the best guy on that show for a while.

You like Poehler? Can't stand her.

She used to be a bit player on Conan. She is not the funniest person in the world, but I enjoy her personality. I think she does aight.

Yeah, played Andy's sister. That was funny. She was on some other lame sketch show on Comedy Central. I just see her as the same character all the time. Bugs.

Mya Rudolph on the other hand is a great character actor, always different.

That guy that acts like Prince is funny sometimes. But only sometimes.

Farrel's a tool. The only contribution he ever made to comedy was the Cowbell sketch.

Oh hells yeah it was.

Armison can do a lot of accents, he is a quirky fellow.

I like Dratch as Debbie Downer. Other than that, I can't think of anything else she has done.

The first Debbie Downer I did crack the hell up. I had that on DVR for months. I can't think of another one off hand...

Actually, the last time I even remember laughing, was that Taco commercial, where they keep adding stuff to it, wrap it in a pizza, put in in a pancake, etc.


And the T.V. funhouse cartoons, while over the top and offensive to me, make me laugh. Will Wildcat always made me laugh.

The taco commercial, I did laugh at that. It reminded me of the old school SNL fake commercials.

TV Funhouse was great. Robert Smeigel is great.

He always cracked me up. When he would do that Inside The Actors Studio dingus it was great. Don't get me started on the Cowbell deal.

I never did like the cheerleaders sketch.

Cowbell sketch is comedy, but that was Christopher Walken that was the funniest.

Dunno, but in all the movies he's been in, he just annoys the hell out of me. Mugatu was a tool, Ron Burgundy sucked balls for a living, his character in old school was just annoying, and he played a crap Darrin. That loser in the Wedding Crashers who crashed funerals was probably the funniest thing he did, and he was still pretty annoying.

I'm legendary anchorman, Ron Burgundy . I'm sitting here in my Aqua Jet 9000 enjoying a, well, my usual meal of steak, waffles, french fries, and of course, Scotch.

If you don't think this song is the greatest song ever, I will fight you. That's no lie.
