GUANTANAMO BAY, Cuba, Sept. 16 (UPI) -- Suspected terrorists locked up at the U.S. military detention center in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, have grown fond of the escapist "Harry Potter" book series.

The Defense Department reported this week that the Harry Potter books are the most-requested works at the prison library, where some of the most-dangerous prisoners in the war on terrorism are being held.

The Washington Post said the list of "Gitmo" trivia compiled by the Pentagon notes the library has 3,500 books in 13 languages, including the wildly popular series about the British boy wizard.

Other factoids include 174 pairs of eyeglasses issued to inmates; an average weight gain of 20 pounds per prisoner and recreational activities that include basketball, ping-pong and board games.

Inmates who are released get a pair of jeans, a denim jacket, a Koran and a pillow for the flight home.
