Wow, so Bush's war in Iraq has now lasted longer than the US involvement in WWII. Credit where it's due, that's some achievment, what with Bush having access to the most powerful military in history against home made bombs and AK47s.

Question is, does Bush really want to get out of Iraq or is something going on there that he's not talking about?

quote:
08/28/06 "The Independent" -- -- A miserable milestone was passed the other day. America's (and Britain's) disastrous war in Iraq has now lasted longer than the US involvement in the Second World War. Yes, this conflict has outlasted a war that ended with total victory over Nazi Germany. Hitler declared war on the US on 11 December 1941. Exactly 1,244 days later, on 7 May 1945, Germany surrendered. The US invaded Iraq on 19 March 2003, and this weekend it is 1,267 days later, with no end in sight.

And the U.S. didn't even have to scare people into thinking the Nazi's were going to follow them home. Good for them.

I still get a kick out of Dubyanauts spitting out that drivel about fighting the "war" over there or over here. Man, I wonder how many of the brave citizens who believe it ran out to Wal Mart to buy more duct tape.

I don't get that either HECK. It's been the same jargon over and over again for years, and nobody (besides you and me, man; only you and me... and h@ts, probably) seems to see how repetitive it is.
