When American brothers Todd and Jan Wolfhouse travel to Germany to spread their grandfather's ashes at Oktoberfest, they stumble upon a super-secret, centuries old, underground beer games competition--"Beerfest," the secret Olympics of beer drinking. The brothers receive a less than warm welcome from their German cousins, the Von Wolfhausens, who humiliate Todd and Jan, slander their relatives, and finally cast them out of the event. Vowing to return in a year to defend their country and their family's honor, the Wolfhouse boys assemble a ragtag dream team of beer drinkers and gamers: Barry Badrinath, the consummate skills player with a dark past; Phil Krundle (aka Landfill), a one-man chugging machine; and Charlie "Fink" Finklestein, the lab tech with a PhD in 'All Things Beer'. This Magnificent Five train relentlessly, using their hearts, minds and livers to drink faster, smarter and harder than they ever have before. But first they must battle their own demons--as well as a bunch of big, blond, German jerks who want to destroy the team before they can even make it back to Munich.
The crew and I will be at the bar before hand for sure. There is a theater less than a half mile away. We'll sneak a few tallboy's inside and let the hilarity ensue.
Just makes me so happy to see this come out. Super Troopers is great, now the same guys make a movie called Beerfest. Sweet tap dancin' Santa, I am so there.
Yeah... that's a movie that I think I will pass on. But, to be there, in the theatre, with you and your friends... sweet jesus... that would be a hoot and a half.
do NOT drop my name at the theatre please, my free passes will be revoked for life if they know you and the Heck Gang are the drunk, bottle throwing, sunflower seed leaving, belching peeps in the back row.
i do, however, concur that SuperTroopers was mildly amusing.
I'm with HECK on this. That movie looks completely hilarious, and I would be remissed if I didn't make the effort to go see it soon after opening night. Super Troopers was hilarious. "Who wants a moustache ride!?"
I don't have TV at my house. I'm dead serious. All we can do is rent movies. We can't watch the news or anything. This being said, I haven't seen any recent movie previews for things that are coming out in theaters or anything. My other half came over...a few weeks ago and wanted to go see a movie. We saw Beerfest. It wasn't too bad to be honest with you. I liked the little red disclaimer during the opening credits: If you attempt to consume this much alcohol, you will die!
Me and four other buddies saw it last Friday. We met up and one dude's house and killed an 18 pack in about 15 minutes, if that. Then we cruised to the theater, I swooped up a few tall cans for the theater, as did the rest. Funny enough, just before the movie starts when it's all quiet we crack our beers in unison. Then the movie starts with the beer cracking sound. Excellent. The five of us were laughing throughout the whole thing. It was great.
