Would you let your daughter/son's boyfriend/girlfriend sleepover?

I voted yes, if it was seperate bedrooms. And the parents were home to make sure nothing happened. Put some booby traps in the hallway, like thread hooked to rattles running about an inch off the floor.

If I had a teenage kid, I would let them have a sleepover with their boy/girlfriend so long as they were in separate rooms and I was home.

I'd just tell my son that I had sex with his mother, and that'd kill his libido for at least a week.

ooo good answer Dekka. I'll be writing that one down to save for the teen years at our house.

I voted no. I was way to sneaky, and I would be worried that my kids would have inherited that from me.

^ exactly what fuscia said... though I was sneaking without having my girlfriends stay over... so perhaps I'd let them, just because I'd have a greater chance of busting them!

What ages are we talking about?

Teenagers....no, I wouldnt.

But if we are talking about adults (21 or older)....thats a different story. Then a possibility of yes might be in order...depends on the circumstances involved.

Can I ask what difference it makes if your son/daughter is in a same sex relationship? I didn't understand why that was included at all. Why is that a choice?

If it was my son wanting his girlfriend over, sure, in a separate room. Wouldn't get mad if he snuck out for a little hubba hubba. If it was a daughter, no fudgin' way.

Mystic brought up a good point about the age factor. IF my kids were teens, then it would be a flat no. If they were adults, then most likely it would be o.k., but I know Ron would say no for our daughter even if she was 40.

Absolutely not if they were teenagers. Little kids are hornballs these days, you have to watch them when they're like 11 now!!! If my kid (daughter OR son) was old enough and brought their boyfriend or girlfriend home, it'd be separate bedrooms. I brought my freshman college boyfriend home once for a night and my parents made him sleep in the living room and he had to be gone by the time they went to work the next morning. I'm way older now and it's still separate bedrooms.

well lol nowadays it does start younger as somebody clearly pointed out. However-in london, parents are getting more lienient as we speak. Im allowed male friends over but they cant stay over. Some of my friends are allowed to stay at their males friends houses and their parents actually let them.

If you say so. Anyway, my parents let me stay over at my boyfriends houses when I was a teenager but they never were allowed to sleep over at my house..go figure huh? I would probably be okay as long as it was in seperate rooms and I was home...and up all night...keeping watch...until they both woke up.

By the way Chrissie, I just reread that and it made me seem like a major B***h. I didn't mean it that way. I just didn't get it that's all.

i say hell no - you start doing that and your kid will be a parent 12-18 and you let them do it.

Even if they are in different rooms they will sneak in with each other lol.
i know, i was stuck at an exs house one night when we were having losts of tornadoes. she lived about hour from my house and it was 11 o'clock and school was the next day.
to stay the night we slepted in seperate rooms and
her parents locked me in the room upstairs that had a bathroom - had to agree to it.
anyways, her room was on the other side of this huge house and downstairs.
after her parents fell a sleep she came up, unlocked the door and you can guess the rest of it. was about 2:30 - 3:00 am.
She had snuck into her parents room, found the key and came to see me.
she had to go and wake me up! but that was okay

so it doesn't matter if its different rooms - if there's a will there's a way. no matter what in this situation.

Are you related to my husband because this is the exact same excuse he gave my parents when I got pregnant with our last 2 children!

Seperate bedrooms is best. It is respectful.
