He was on fade, have to give him a pass. I once said I was a fighter pilot when I was drunk.

But he is an anti-dentite for sure.

I'm still not buying that Passion of the Christ was anti-Semetic, but I can't see why he'd be saying that stuff unless he felt it.

I agree with what Dekka just posted.

I'd agree that maybe their is a tickle of dislike for Jews there, but I don't know that he truly means it. The notion that booze is some kind of truth serum is an untruthatude.

He's a drunk, a turd pocket and doesn't like jews. all in all he's a jerk.

He was drunk, and I think that he spewed off true feelings. His father was anti-jew... so, he was spewing off his feelings, of things he learned, and believes in. I just can't see him going off on such a rant, for no reason, if it weren't true.

There was a reason, because he was drunk. Not an excuse, just a reason.

People lose their minds when they are boozed up. And if he is an alcoholic it's even worse. I've seen people say the most ignorant, hateful crap when they are tanked and apologize like no other the next day. Yours truly included. Of course I didn't spew anything racist or prejudice... that I'm aware of.

So just because someone's drunk it's okay to say things b/c its the booze talking? that is an excuse. Hell, I can get drunk and choose to say all the crap I hate and then blame it on the booze - it's not right. it's not a reason, it's an excuse. And just b/c he's a star people are supposed to say OH OKAY, nope.

When I get drunk, I say things more intensified. I don't say bs crap. Well, unless I'm like, falling down, to the point that I can't do anything... including drive. I think that Mel knew EXACTLY what he said, and meant it.

Drink does make you do and say stupid things and that's not a cop out that's a fact. To the people that have said they have never said or done anything they regretted after having a few to many I say lucky you.

Gibsons said he is getting help with his drinking and has apoligsed to the Jewish community and has aksed to meet a Rabbi as well for "education on the Jews". So the guy admitted he made a mistake he is getting help he has apoligised and has asked to meet a Rabbi to educate him on the error of his ways. Not quite sure what the else the man can do when you consider the fact that time machines are not readily available just yet.

The thing that I find unusual is that people are more upset about what he said as opposed to what he did. We need to get a perspective here people anti semetic words are bad but drink driving is deadly

I think it goes without saying that drunk driving is horrible. I for one think that it is too easy for celebrities to get away with doing this without facing any real consequences.

We aren't saying that the drunk spewings are worse. We've already stated that we are pissed at that, and we know that he will get a slap in the wrist for it... yet, he shouldn't be above the law.

If he wouldn't have spewed all that crappy anti-semitic stuff, he most definitely would have gotten off with a slap on the wrist. But now, he has more to answer to so he might get some sort of punishment, though probably not as much as he actually deserves.

The fact he was drinking and driving is totally worse. But notice how everyone is talking about what he said? Interesting. Maybe it was just a smoke screen.

About the comments, the booze is a reason. We're talking about something that effects your brain functions. Fact-o-la.

Finally, we have all made mistakes. No one is even close to perfect. I hear people totally taking shots at Gibson, and besides it being no one's business, where do these people get off?

when it comes to those in the spot light, people always want to find faults. it sells those dumb black and white magazines for the gossipers. people love to trash those in the media

Truthfully those magazines are the problem. They print stories, true or not, about one facet or incident surrounding these people and all of sudden John and Jane Public are experts about all celebrities. Britney is a bad mom, Tom Cruise is insane, Mel Gibson is a Jew hater... Angelina & Brad Pitt- who gives a shhhhh.

You remember when Entertainment tonight showed how the movies where made, interviews with the actors directors etc?
now its just tabloid stuff about who is sleeping with who, who is drinking or smoking what etc. think one of the black and white mags purchased them.
