| Posted by: Sayzak | | A lot of us here are convinced we know the motivation behind the war in Iraq. I'm not one of them, which is why I'm willing to jump into any debate for or against action in Iraq. I only set out to question people's dispositions. Bush supporters/haters alike.
I'm curious what you know, not what you think you know, or how you feel. In this thread, it's about the truth.

Sayzak was asking for facts, not opinion. I thought it was a interesting fact about what's going on in Iraq. What does it mean? Who knows? Are the US leaving or not?

Giant U.S. embassy rising in Baghdad
By Barbara Slavin, USA TODAY
Three years after a U.S.-led invasion toppled Saddam Hussein, only one major U.S. building project in Iraq is on schedule and within budget: the massive new American embassy compound.
The $592 million facility is being built inside the heavily fortified Green Zone by 900 non-Iraqi foreign workers who are housed nearby and under the supervision of a Kuwaiti contractor, according to a Senate Foreign Relations Committee report. Construction materials have been stockpiled to avoid the dangers and delays on Iraq's roads.
"We are confident the embassy will be completed according to schedule (by June 2007) and on budget," said Justin Higgins, a State Department spokesman.

I guess it's just one of the perks in being so horribly wrong in assessing the capabilities of Iraq in the first place. | | Reply To this Message
