If you could choose one State, to live in forever, which one would it be? |
| Posted by: Whidden | | I cheated, and chose Oregon and Wyoming. Such wonderful states.
I love Oklahoma, and Florida is ok, but if I was a billionare, or whatever, and could live anywhere I wanted, I would go for the best, and to me, the mountains, the lakes, the trees, etc,
make either Oregon or Wyoming the place I would want to be. The tetons, yellowstone, absolutely awesome places to see. Pines and aspens, sulpher pits, geyers, lakes, craggy mountains, old wood cabins, etc. Wyoming is a paradise.
Oregon, never been there, but from the pics I seen, lots of pine tree's, slick beach areas, camping grounds, looks like a sweet place to live.
Oklahoma is a wonderful place to be, and such an upgrade from Florida (for my personal needs) and I'm very happy to live here. But I didn't vote for it, I'm talking fantasy state here. The best of the best baby!
And I'm voting Wyoming or Oregon. Though I lean toward Wyoming more. | | Reply To this Message

I've traveled around a bit, and I still love Oregon the best. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: brochu13 | | I live in Maryland now, and I would not move if it was all payed for. Florida has always held my interest, but it's more of a vacation spot than an actual home for some reason. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Mr. F | | Ive been to Arizona, Nevada ,Utah, Oregon , Washington,Ohio, and Hawaii, none of them even come close to California. Its got snowy mountains, deserts, big cities, little towns, beaches, and great weather. If we could get rid of Los Angles ti would be perfect | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: HECK! | | This is an interesting question, pick one state to live in forever. That is tricky. It would still be Cali for me.
Why get rid of LA, Mr. F? There are some dope spots.

| Posted by: Mr. F | | LA is a smoggy , crime-infested, crap-hole. If you like big city life, San Diego and San Jose are way better. Hey, we could wall it off and send people there for a punishment, like Escape from New York, then maybe LA cold serve a purpose | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Kerry02 | | I grew up in Illinois. Cold, cold winters, humid summers, hard water, the Cubs, but jobs were always plentiful. Moved to Arizona in the late 70's. Hellish summers, beautiful winters, it's the minimum wage capital of the US. Spent one year in Oregon. Nothing not to like in Oregon. Wish I could have stayed there. Back in Arizona again because that's where my kids are. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Kerry02 | | Even though I voted for Oregon, I just came back from a trip to Alaska. I'm not sure I could handle that cold weather to live there but I have never seen more beautiful scenery. It took my breath away. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Pippin | | My cousin spent a year or so in Alaska. Just gorgeous, he said, but the winters here in Oregon actually feel colder than the ones in Alaska because ours are so wet. I think I would really enjoy a vacation to Alaska during the winter. It would be much warmer
YAY! Oregon is in the lead again | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Kerry02 | | Well, the winter I spent in Oregon must have been very moderate because I used to put on my raincoat and take my umbrella and go for long walks in the rain - and it was always raining. That's actually one of the things I really loved about Oregon. I never did get tired of the rain.
On the other hand when I was in Alaska in June I nearly froze. The wind and 50 degree temperatures nearly did me in. Of course, I'm a desert dweller so I guess it seemed colder than it really was. Alaska though is the most beautiful place I've ever seen - Oregon is a close second. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Pippin | | What part of Oregon did you stay in?
This last winter we had six straight weeks of rain. It was nice for the first month, but it just kept going. I would have preferred a few days of sunbreak here and there. And most of the time the temperature was around 35-40 degrees. If it was just a little colder, can you imagine the huge amount of snow we would get? | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Kerry02 | | We started out in Hammond - little teeny town the farthest northwest you could get in Oregon. We lived just a block from the Columbia River and about 4 miles to the ocean. We didn't experience winter in Hammond, we only lived there from April to September. The summer was cool and lovely. Then we decided to try Salem because my husband had become ill and we needed access to doctors closer than Portland. That winter we were there everyone said was extra mild. That's where I did all the walking in the rain. My husband's sister still lives in
Salem and I talked to her quite a bit this last winter and she told me about all the rain. I wonder if I would have gotten tired of it. That's hard to imagine, but I''ve never been exposed to that much rain. But rain or shine, Oregon is one beautiful state. And it looks like the secret is out. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: KelseyMarie09 | | thats right! Oregon is the best!
I love it because it has everything you need! You can drive to the ocean, the mountains, annnnd the desert all in one weekend. im sure you could do it in a day but why hurry? Everything in Oregon is wonderful! Well...besides that one winter when we got a foot of snow then 2 inches of ice over the snow. the only good part about that was the fact we got another week of winter vaction!

| Posted by: Lawless | | Cali is right behind though!
Oregon is a beautiful place. I remember back in high school, a group of friends and I all traveled up to Canada, for the World Expo. When we drove home, we stopped a couple days in Oregon. We stayed in a friends cabin. OMG... right on a creek, and just loving it. I didn't want to leave. | | Reply To this Message

Woot go oklahoma, see it score!
I live in oklahoma and hate it. The people are disgusting, rude, unkind, and think they are the cream of the crop - horrible. I would rather live in Jackson mississippi then here. People are nicer there, and they are more kind in nyc believe it or not. | | Reply To this Message
