20.5 millions of barrels a day! My God! China, which has a population of 1,306,313,812 does not consume as much as we do in a day!

Of course, the Chinese drive less gas guzzling cars than Americans do.

Although the population of China is much larger than the U.S., I suspect that a much smaller percentage of their population drives cars compared the percentage of U.S. population that drives cars.

That won't be the case for long though. China is bursting into the modern era overnight. Within the next five years, many, many millions of Chinese are going to start driving cars. We will soon look back with a warm, fuzzy nostalgia to the good old days when gas was only $3.50 a gallon. Enjoy it while you can.

Isn't it scary though? We cannot allow every single Chinese household to have a car. The price of gas would be about 15 dollars a barrol if not more. Also we need natural gas to fuel our homes, they'd probably use up most of the gas. We cannot allow this to happen! They will use all of the natural gas and pretty soon there will not be enough to go around.

Yes, I have heard that the most popular car in China is the Buick.

You know, they used to always say that there were so many Chinese that if we ever got into a war with them, we might be able to shoot them all down as they came at us, but they would never stop coming.

Just try to imagine all those Chinese driving past in Buicks.

What about India? just like China they are going through a period of huge economic growth, they are also the second most populated country. Pretty soon the Us will not just be worrying about Chinese oil consumption but also Indian.

Yeah, those bloody Chinese. Gotta stop them from using the world's resources... so that we can.

I wondered why India wasn't near consuming 6.5 barrols a day as the Chinese did in 2005. India is moving faster into the technical world than is China and it would make sense that the Indians would begin to drive more cars and use more petroleum than the Chinese.
