You've got to wonder why the world paid so little interest in this at the time and why it became such an all important matter 10 years after it occured.

Maybe the West finally learnt to love the Arab, or the impoverished, or the downtrodden, or the oppressed, or... etc.

The new Iraqi leader has said he is going to get tough with the insurgency and the terrorists. Tough compared to what? We've already had thousands of civilians killed, Abu Ghrab, death squads, torture etc.
