Thread is open to talk of American Idol vote rigging. All speculation is welcomed here.

Do our votes acutally count? Do the producers use the clause shown at the end of the show that allows them to override a vote for any reason?

MSNBC - they have confirmed that Kat's Dad has worked as a producer for Fox. Specifically on a New Year's Eve show hosted by Ryan.

Isn't this a conflict of interest? What do you all think?

I think that it's a HUGE conflict... and could lead to A LOT of speculation.

Well, I do believe that there is rigging in the voting... and I have since the first season. Don't know HOW they do it... but, they have the money, and means, to do such things.

The American public can't vote in a president, I never figured the powers-that-be would let us vote for the American Idol.

In all seriousness, if it's not rigged to a certain degree then they are absolutely insane, not to mention piss poor businessmen. With the kind of money this show pulls down, you have to be darn skippy they are pulling the strings and steering their boat in the direction they want. What if America got a wild hair, decided to be funny and vote that silly looking goofball from a few years back? They would be pooched.

And I hope Taylor fans don't pull the 'rigged' card if he loses. If we abide by all the voting this far, can't cry foul when it really counts.

You know, I would be a bit sad if he lost, but I have total faith that he will be much bigger than Kat. Taylor will be around for a long time.

He totally has a fan base. Win or lose, he's going to be out there. That something Dice guy from last year is huge and he lost. Taylor's got it made, for sure. You almost want him to lose so he can take off the AI shackles.

Well the person who comes in second is optioned by Simon Cowells company. They have the right to them if they want them. So because Simon does not get Taylor at all, I am hoping for a win so he can record with Clive.

Really? Didn't know that. Maybe Simon is telling everyone that he thinks Taylor will win, and based on people not liking Simon he thinks they will vote for Katherine.... I just gave myself a headache.
