Elliott: “Trouble” and “If I Can Dream”

Chris: “A Little Less Conversation” and “Suspicious Minds”

Taylor: “Jailhouse Rock” and “In the Ghetto”

Katherine: “Hound Dog/All Shook Up” and “Can’t Help Falling in Love

(these were in several posts on the AI site)

A Little Less Conversation is one of the ONLY songs that I actually like... and my Chris is singing it! Well, I HOPE that he will.

If Kat does Hound Dog/All Shook Up, I think that she will bomb it. But, she might do well with "Cant Help Falling In Love" though, a friend of mine commented that it's his SIGNATURE song, and it could hurt her.

Kat's song choice could really hurt her.

People are reporting that ET will show or did show that Priscilla took Taylor's arm and led him around Graceland.

One of the things that I AM looking forward to tonight is that Tommy Motolla is supposed to be the one working with the four contestants. I want to hear his input, and thoughts, for each of them.

Hopefully we will get to hear what he thinks. I hate it when they mess with the parts we are allowed to hear.

First off:

Kris...you were right. Kat bombed!

Second: Tommy M. did say what he thought, but I dont know if it was any different than anyone else's comments (ie Barry Manilow, Rod Stewart, etc). One thing he said to Kat about her second song was that she needs to feel the song and sing it that way and not worry about anything but the song. AND..what did she do? exactly what he told her NOT to do. She came out and started good then within seconds, she was smiling again and she lost it because of that. She was too worried about smiling and lost herself in the song...AGAIN. Ive said that all along about her. Good voice, but too busy playing to the camera and smiling, which you cannot do during a sad ballad. She has a great voice...but she loses herself while playing too much to the camera and concentrating too much on smiling when it is so completely unnecessary.

Another thing T.M. said was that he loved Chris' voice and that he thinks it is gonna be great to listen to on an album. (What Chris fan wouldnt love that comment!!)

Chris was great..loved Suspicious Minds! (I always liked Dwight Yokums version better than Elvis'...wierd I know...but I do)..Chris sang it the Elvis way, and I actually liked it better from Chris than from Elvis.

I didnt care for Taylors first song...the second was really good..Id never heard that song before but my husband said it was one of his favorites by Elvis, so I guess if one likes Elvis they know that song.

Elliot got major rave reviews from the judges...I thought the first song was good, but the second song he sang was great!

Priscilla Presley...she needs to stay away from the plastic surgery...she looks plastic-like...its so very very wierd.

Someone voted for Chris, Taylor and Elliot to leave?

Maybe they think that...but after tonight's performance, I cant see how anyone would have voted for any of the guys to leave.

I voted for Kat. The guys were on tonight.

Caught me Mystic. I listen to the MP3's on Rickey.org I like to hear the vocals without being distracted by the visual. The men were great!

I just started watching the show on DVR. I have only seen Taylor so far. I don't know why I'm bothering because I have a feeling Elliott is going home tomorrow no matter what. I mean, he's been in the bottom 3 several times while giving the best performance of the evening. I'm almost disillusioned with the show at this point. It's seeming more like a popularity contest rather than a singing competition. Kat has bombed a few times while concentrating more on where the camera is instead of singing her songs yet she keeps ending up among the highest vote-getters.

Oh well, I'm going to continue watching the show now.

Thanks for the review, mystic I can't wait to hear Chris, and Elliott. I knew that Kat was gonna screw it up... and damn it, she has got to STOP playing up to the camera. Hasn't anyone sat down with her and said, "Look Kat... you can't keep smiling into the camera while singing a ballad. People want to know that the person singing is actually FEELING those things." Damn!

It probably won't matter even when you add in that she forgot her lyrics AGAIN! She will most likely sail through tomorrow.

Great idea...sometimes it is nice to hear the voice and not the person...might give one an idea how they would sound on the radio.

Mystic, I agree for the most part. The only place I don't agree is disbelief that anyone could've voted for any of the guys to leave. I could see someone voting for Taylor to leave if they are taking into account the entirety of the show. Elliott and Chris on the other hand.....Give me a break! If all was right in the world they should definitely be the final 2 based on who's left on the show.

I hate to think you are right...but you may be.

Id like to think America will get it right this time and keep Elliott...he deserves to stay after tonights perfomance!

I based that on the total show though...if someone really was listening, Kat would be the likely vote to leave....not the guys. If someone voted off Taylor before Kat tonight, even I would have to disgree with that. Taylors first song wasnt great, but he made up for it with the second song. That second song alone blew Kats two songs away.

He deserves to stay (in my opinion) due to the entirety of his performances. He has been consistently great! He should definitely outstay Kat and Taylor. Kat has had quite a few bad performances and Taylor has had a few as well. Kat also needs to learn to stop smiling into and hunting for the camera during every song. It has gotten more than a little old.

Ive been saying that for some time now. Youre right...its very old. She even had T.M. give her that advice and she didnt listen. I mean this is freakin Tommy M. My adivce is to listen to this guy...he likes ya and you can write your own ticket! She screwed up big time for not listening to that.

I dont agree that Kat was at a disdvantage this evening.

If one would ever listen to Honeymoon in Vegas...there are Elvis songs sung by women on that soundtrack.

Trisha Yearwood and Amy Grant sang his songs really well...I dont remember anyone saying that they were at a disadvantage for those songs.

This is a terrible excuse for people to give Kat....and one I certainly dont accept.

Well.... tonight, Chris definitely did it, for me!!!

Then, I would have to say, Elliott. He was just amazing tonight.

Followed up with Taylor. Not a bad night for him. Esp with the second song.

Last, and I would have to say, the least consistent lately... Katharine.

So, I'm thinking that we're looking at a three way competition with the men, if America votes right, based on how these four have sang, on a constant basis.

I agree, mystic. She wasn't at a disadvantage. That's a total excuse... men sing songs by women, and vice versa. It's a crock to say that only one sex can sing a song. Pure

She just didn't do a good enough job tonight, period. For being vocally trained, all her life, she was mediocre. I expected her to raise the bar a bit, and she just couldn't. She went with a bad song selection for her first performance, and she just didn't sing in the right key, or something, for the second.

I have heard women sing Elvis songs, and do a great job at it. I've heard men sing them, and sound horrible. It just depends on the voice behind the person.

Mystic you can get the mp3's on www.rickey.org

I thought Taylor's "In the Ghetto" was the best of the night. He really knows how to use all the shades of his voice. Personally, I love it when he does a slower song. Dancing or standing there, I love the guy.

oh man, McPhee BLEW IT! She was HORRENDOUS! I really don't think Elliott will win b/c he doesn't have a strong stage presence but man he better not go home tonight. He was REALLY GOOD yesterday! Way better than McPhee. I see she goes, or I go. okay i won't go, but i'll be angry.

Goodbye McPhee, she really isn't that great compared to the other singers and she tends to forget her lyrics. As soon as she got quiet in that song, I knew she forgot or messed up the words. Did she think turning around meant that people couldn't hear her? You have a microphone in your hand! Oh well, now we know a white male will win the competition.

White female. Check and check.
Black male. Check.
Black female. Check.

Now we need to get Hispanic and Asian winners. It will show the true melting pot menagerie of artists in America then.
