Last April, a pair of baseball players and the coach left Duke in a Steroid scandal.

Duke's renowned hospital revealed doctors operated on 4,000 patients with instruments washed in used hydraulic fluid.

In 2001, Princeton Review ranked Duke as least tolerant of gays and 6th worse in race relations.

The city's population is equally divided between Blacks and Whites, but only 11 percent of Duke's 6,200 undergrads are Black.

Now Dukes's all-white lacrosse team (except 1 token Black) raped and racially insulted two Black women who were hired to dance.

Why isn't there any discussion on this topic?

The Black female victim is an NCCU sophomore, former Navy veteran and mother of two children. The full-time student worked for an escort service, which is legal, to make a living.

The night of the rape incident was first time she had ever done exotic dancing at a party. She was told she and another dancer would be performing for only 5 men. The women were surprised to see over 40 White men who, according to neigbors, had been drinking.

While inside, the White men became rowdy and started hurling racial slurs at them, the victim told the local newspaper. They became frightened but was coaxed back to finish performing.

If athletes from "HBCU's" like NCCU were accused of gang raping a White female student from Duke, they would be answering questions from a jail cell.

It was then she was allegedly dragged into the bathroom , beaten , choked and sodomized by 3 White men. Hours later, she was taken to a Durham hospital traumatized by the experience.

"My father came to see me in the hospital," she told the local newspaper. " I knew if I didn't report it that he would have that hurt forever, knowing that someone hurt his baby and got away with it."

Remind me why they're not in gaol? And don't just say because they're white.

I think he might be going for 'jail'.

Two days after team gave DNA samples, they were seen in a bar drinking and shouting " Duke Lacrosse"!

There are plenty of stories for conservative media to write about team without having to dig. Most stories are about victim discredit her, but have nothing to do with the case.

I would have been out celebrating too... esp if I was falsely accused of doing soemthing heinous.

I don't know... then again, do you? After all, if you were proven INNOCENT of something, you would celebrate too. Isn't that what OJ did?

Lawyers: DNA not linked to Duke athletes

RALEIGH, N.C. - DNA testing in the Duke lacrosse rape case found genetic material from several males in the accuser's body and her underwear — but none from any team member, defense attorneys said in court papers Wednesday.

The papers were filed by attorneys for the three lacrosse players charged, Reade Seligmann, Collin Finnerty and David Evans. They complained that the information about DNA from other men was not disclosed in a report prosecutors provided earlier this year to the defense.

The testing was conducted at a private laboratory for the prosecution.

"This is strong evidence of innocence in a case in which the accuser denied engaging in any sexual activity in the days before the alleged assault, told police she last had consensual sexual intercourse a week before the assault, and claimed that her attackers did not use condoms and ejaculated," the defense said.

In an interview, defense attorney Joseph Cheshire said the findings suggest the accuser had sex shortly before the March team party where she was hired to perform as a stripper. The woman has said three lacrosse team members gang-raped her in a bathroom at the party.

District Attorney Mike Nifong did not immediately return a call for comment.

The trial is not expected to start until the spring.

I'd bet someone raped her, it's just a case of finding who exactly those 3 men were... it's an easy mistake for her to think they were on the lacrose team, though, as the part seems to be for the team. Hope somebody gives up the guys who did it, though.

If there were hella dudes at the party that would be hard to figure out what was what if she was drunk, drugged or on drugs. So many facts out there. Feel bad for the girl. But if these particular dudes don't match the DNA what can you do. Sad all around.

That's it man, you can't just nail some innocent jock because they're jocks. I mean, sure, they're bastards and tortured me non-stop throughout high school and college, thinking they're all good with their hot cheerleader girlfriends, but what did they ever do for society huh!??! Eh, I need a glass of water.

Lacrosse team though? Meh. They're like fancy jocks. Designer jock straps and what not. If you get roughed up by the Lacrosse team you're only a few steps away from getting canned by the Chess team.

Heck, do you know any lacrosse players? I hung out with some. They aren't weaklings, and geeks. These guys had muscles, and great bodies... and they were good looking too. It's not a far off thing, to think that it could have happened by them. Though, I'm glad that they were proven innocent.

I've never met any, no. I can imagine lacrosse players are fit. Just think the sport is weak. It's like pro volleyball or tennis. Hard to do, but they come off as a bit of a dandy. Football, baseball, hockey, basketball- those are big time.

It's just because they are more popular. But, lacrosse is a very hard sport, and quite strenuous. Those people (men and women) are far from being dandy. But, to those that are into that sport, it's a really interesting one.
