I don't think performing last guarantee's anything.
Ace performed last on March 21st, and on the 22nd he went home.

It's just to keep track of it. People talk about the pimp spot all the time. They should try to share it though. Make it as fair as possible.

I don't see how it's the "pimp" spot. It's just a spot, in my personal opinioin.

The person that goes last is fresh in the mind of the viewers. They are not forgotten the way the person who opens the show usually is.

Oh, I guess that might be true... for others. I remember each and every performance. Besides, people know, for the most part, before the show, who they are voting for. I wonder how many people change their votes based on the actual performances. I'm sure that it's up there, in numbers... but, most stick with their faves.
