The National Day of Action was a big event in Denver because of the huge illegal (and legal) immigrant population in the area. It got a lot of coverage in the local media and sparked a lot of debate, mostly between people who are on extreme ends of the spectrum on this issue. I did read one editorial that was a little more sensible than most of what you hear about immigration on the network and cable news shows. Here's a link, see what you think about it.

I don't see how a person could be anywhere except on the extreme ends of the spectrum on this issue. It's a tug of war.

You are right though about the position of Brad Bettag in the link you gave. He is right in the middle of the tug of war pulling against one side with one arm and against the other side with the other arm. "Hypocrisy," as he says.
