Libby lends Hurley support when he begins to think the island is having a strange effect on him, and Locke's sense of purpose is shaken when the prisoner provides new information about the hatch.

Okay... WHY is this ep named after Whidden? I KNEW IT!! Dave IS an alien, and he's using the island to perform anal probing on these people, as they try to survive.

Sherry, what are we going to do now?

I don't even want to know what he had to do with Walt's dissapearance.

That's what I'm talking about, Sayzak... he's doing some really bad things.
But, up until this moment, we didn't even know that Dave was an "Other"

No wonder Whidden has said that Kate is the mole, even though there's no real proof! She's been reporting to him all this time

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking... he knows who the mole is, and is keeping in contact with her. Wonder if he's the one that's been writing in the journal.

I HAVE DONE GENE THERAPY ON BEARS, MESSED AROUND WITH AN ELECTRO MAGNET, HELPED WORK ON SOME BLAST DOORS, AND WAS THE DESIGNATED PARTY THROWER FOR HATCH #3, THE FLAME.

All I have to say is DAVE'S NOT HERE!* the doctor just took a pic of Hurley and Dave, and yes, me and Sandy have it figured out, he will show it to hurley later and he will be alone in it. There is no DAVE.

I bet everyone "gets it", but I'm going to bed right after it's over, so I will post now, before it gets revealed. Poor Hurley is NUTZ.

Totally figured that one out. Too easy to know that Dave wasn't real, but a figment of Hurley's imagination.

The episode, as a whole, was really good. I loved when Hurley attacked Sawyer, and as he was hitting him, he was saying the names that Sawyer has called him, as insults, like "Staypuff" I was busting up at that part.

I loved when Sayid was interrogating "Henry Gale" and he was freaking out, saying that "He" will kill him. Was hoping to get an answer as to who "he" is.

OMG... Libby just kissed Hurley? Wow... they are taking it that way. Cool.

See, even we fat people can get the hotties.

And there, in the 'mental instution' is LIBBY! Holy crap!
What in the hell is going on?

And the previews for next week!!!

Gonna have to start a thread for it, already, so that we can discuss that.

I bet all the people on the island are people who have been kidnapped from their daily lives. Not their bodies, but their consciousness. Hurley probably is still somewhere, in a coma. Like everyone else. Hehh??? ehh???

that would be funny and horrible if it was all some kind of alternate reality show and the numbers and everything else we've been analysing so far didn't really amount to nothing.

actually, that wouldn't be funny. that would be many hours wasted out of my life. ah well.

after this episode me and all the peeps i live with walked around in a daze. we were confused so much. blegh.

but when you think about it, it all does seem like a daydream. the things that you really want happen, and other things happen to make everything exciting, there are weird secrets that seem to be answered but unanswerable at the same time... yup. meh. i'm finger-vomiting here, but whatever.

i'm confused.

I would be extremely pissed off to find out that none of it really happened.

I mean, you don't want the bad things to happen (like Boone's and Shannon's deaths) but, you also don't want to find out that this entire thing never really happened.

There has to be a true reason for what's happening on this island. And I about freaked when Dave said that Hurley wasn't really there, but back at the instution, in a coma, or whatever. I actually screamed, outloud and said, "Oh, hell no... that better not be it!" And then, Libby asked him about the person with the broken leg. WHEWIE!

With the whole Libby and Hurley thing was funny. When Hurley said "no girl like you would like a guy like me" i said, "well, the moral of THIS lost episode is, the only girl who would like Hurley is a girl who's mentally insane. THAT JUST SUCKS!"
I like Hurley. I saw a picture of him and his real girlfriend, she's adorable!

I wonder if Hurley is ever going to remember that Libby was a patient and isn't really a doctor.

When he jumped on Sawyer, and everyone just sorta stopped to watch, i was cracking up. Why are they making sawyer such a jerk lately. I hate it. Kate still bugs the hell out of me. and atleast we NOW know that Zeke is no one important.

I found it interesting when "Henry" said to Locke "God doesn't know we're here. God can't see this island any better than anyone else can." I was like WAIT A MINUTE... WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

kate seems different these last couple of episodes. i don't know. did anybody else think that? you didn't see very much of her, but then again i find kate extremely annoying so even the smallest dose seems like a lot.

This episode was the best I can remember since the very first one.

I think Henry is lying about pushing the button. He said he was through lying, but I bet he did push the numbers and enter the code.


Lying little snake. I don't know why Locke believed him.

well, unless he KNOWS the numbers and wasn't relying on the numbers Locke told him... because remember he hit his head and was "unconscious" (maybe) after he fell? He wouldn't just remember the numbers after that and push them. But if he some how KNEW about them, then he could have entered them and just lied to Locke about it.

He did know about the symbols though.... whaaaaaaaaaaaaat.

Didn't the parachute that was attached to the food look EXACTLY like the hot air balloon that "henry" flew in? they were both the same color... coincidence? or clue?

Well, he's with the "Others" and I'm sure that they are more than aware of everything on the island, including the numbers to push.

And yes... the balloon that dropped off the food was a reddish orange, like the other. Makes ya wonder.

I don't think that Henry lied about not pushing the button. So far, he's been trying to shake up Locke, and telling him that the button does nothing would shake him up more than telling him that he did what Locke's been doing all this time. And it doesn't make sense to me to push the button and then lie about it, because things happened this time that hasn't happened before (lights out, invisible ink map).

I loved it when everyone was gathered around and just watched Hurley beat up Sawyer. It was like a middle/high school fight. I was just waiting for people to start chanting "fight fight fight!"

Didn't we see those strange symbols (hieroglyphics) before when another character (Locke) nearly missed entering the numbers?

I'm sure I saw those symbols and I actually thought the numbers weren't entered in time but the timer went back to 108 .

You saw them. The timer ran out and they came up, but Locke entered the numbers late and the timer went back to 108.

eh, I might be wrong about this show, I often am, but I think he was lying.


This episode was all about creating doubt in our minds. Give us a bizzare Hurley side story where the whole Island could be in his mind. They would never do that, as it would make everyone uber angry.


Likewise with the button. This is what I think is going on.



1. There was an incident. It happened. The button does somethign to stop it from happening again.


2. When food is dropped, the blast doors come down. This is a seperate function than the alarms for the button.


3. Someone before, Kelvin maybe, either didn't trust his hatch buddy, or was alone, and put a secret map on the blast door, which can only be seen with a black light. On this map, it says things about "the incident".


4. Henry is a liar, and wants to get them all mixed up and confused, he kept trying to play Locke off of Jack the whole time, now he is trying to make Locke doubt. Locke is the man of faith in the show, so this is a personal attack.

If Henry had told Jack the same thing, that it was all Bogus, Jack wouldn't have cared either way. But to Locke, it was a body blow.

But I'm ready to throw all that out the door if Desmond is "him". That would make sense, if Desmond was fooling them all with his little trick, all the while being the leader of the OTHERS.


I doubt thats the case, but it would explain some things.

This episode reminded me of Intensity, that John Kusak movie out a couple of years ago.

Well, in that movie, they were all split personalitys in a serial killers mind. And didn't know it. They all meet up at a hotel, and get killed one by one. The main serial killer persona is taking them out. It was a good movie, but stupid too. Just one step above the "it's all a dream crappola".

That movie is called Identity. One of my favorites.
