When the hatch suddenly takes on a life of its own, Locke is forced to enlist the help of an unlikely ally. Meanwhile, Ana Lucia, Sayid and Charlie go off into the jungle to find out the truth about Henry.

Locke must make friends with the captive other, Henry Gale.




If the blast doors come down tonight, like it showed in the previews, then they must let the timer wind down without imputing the code.

Oh, I hope so! I was kind of freaked when I thought it was going to happen a few episodes ago, but now I really wish that the writers had let whatever is supposed to happen happen.


Looks like Locke can't pull the Indiana Jones move and slide underneath the door in the last split second. Did it look like he was trapped in the room with the computer, or on the other side of the door, away from the button?

I was worried that Locke would lose him walking ability again. Still wondering about how he lost it in the first place


So, if this man is NOT Henry Gale, then how did he get here? He seemed to have a slight glint of recognition when he heard the numbers. I really truly believe he's an Other, but would an Other help out Locke?


Can someone get a picture of that thing on the wall when the lights went out? More symbols...


Poor and very stupid Locke. We knew there was a rift between Helen and him at some point, but he could have easily prevented this by just walking away.

I am so angry at myself. this is the FIRST Lost episode i forgot to DVR so I can't go back and LOOK AT THE MAP! DANG IT!

But this is from entertainment weekly's website:

The TiVo moment was, of course, the map. Someone was behind those blast doors long enough to plot out the whole Dharma development scheme — someone who didn't want anyone from the outside knowing what he'd figured out. (Why else draw it on a blast door in ink visible only beneath a black light?) The map is arranged in an octagon (of course), with six stations arranged within — some are drawn with dotted lines, suggesting they're...defunct? Off limits? Infected? Who knows? What appear to be rivers and landforms are superimposed over the diagram. There's a large ''I AM HERE'' scrawled next to the Swan, the Losties' home hatch. The Caduceus, the medical Hatch where Claire was held, is also clearly visible. An odd box marked ''CVI'' (or something similar) is also visible. Smaller, less legible notes are scrawled everywhere. Oh yes: In the center there's a giant question mark. As is only appropriate. The map seemed to sear itself on Locke's brain — we saw it reflected in his eye for big, fat, meaningful seconds. I sense a shift in Locke: Will the static mystery of the button cede its place to the mystery of the map?

and lastly, did anyone notice the number of the lock-box where Locke went to get the money was #1516?

I just wonder when the Robinson family will realize that Dr. Smith is evil! The robot seems to know more than people give him credit. He's always telling Will there is danger around, that's cool.

Uh, it was just so very awesome
when they busted that little weenie
dude for not being Henry Gale.

Very happy with last nights episode,
going to watch it again tonight.
The only part I did not understand,
was why didn't they just crawl
out through the air vent before
they tried to open the blast door?


Other than that, it was
a well written episode.
When they found the balloon, Sandy June said
something about Gale being innocent,
and I said, "No way. He killed the balloon guy
and took his story for himself."

But I didn't put the extra part about
the grave having Henry Gale in it.
That part fooled me.


I felt sorry for Locke, getting his
leg messed up again. His woman
dumping him. His dad playing him.

Sad sad.


Also, anyone notice that
the plane landing in the background,
(when Locke went to the apartment
to meet his dad) had the
oceanic sign on it's tail?

I thought that was cool.


Who is Nadia? I have forgotten.

Alvar Hanso, maybe a wife,
is buried by the Black Rock.

Also, it keeps mentioning the ah/mgd incident.
Must be the same incident
that Marvin Candle spoke of.


I found the "stated goal" kind of spooky:

Stated Goal Accerated de territorial
of ursus maritimus through gene thearpy
and extreeme climate change.


Which means Polar Bear, according to my
Google search. So that Polar Bear had it's
genes modified to live on the Island,
in the heat.

Also, I almost forgot, the new food that was dropped.


This ties in with Hurley saying there was 3 months supply for one man. They must drop it every so often.


It also ties in with Zeke and crew acting like hobo's, while in fact they are well dressed, well fed, and clean cut.


This show is getting weirder by the minute.

Looks like between the Swan station, and the Medical station, there is another bunker, the Flame.

Also, it shows Ana Lucia and crews bunker up top, the Arrow.


The other two are not named.


Then, in the center of the map, is something else. Perhaps a "super bunker"?

Also it says Cerebrus station was abandoned in 1985, due to the incident.

Woah.

Wow this weeks episode was awesome! And great analysis on the picture and yes the best part was figuring out that he was not Henry Gale -- so good!

Yeah, I would have been mad if they made him a good guy after all the stunts and weirdo things he has said while a captive.


In the previews for next week, he said he did not want to talk because "HE" would kill him.


Must be the same "HE" that Eathan Rom and Zeke was talking about.

I agree, this episode was excellent.

I wonder who the "HE" is that Gale impersonator refers to. Why would any of the "Others" go to such lengths to mingle and spy on the plane crash survivors. Don't they already know of their existence?

The Other's took the children from the tailies and tried to take Claire's baby Aaron. Now that Sun is pregnant will they come after her next?



I think I found Walt.

He's playing Albie on the sitcom "My Name Is Earl".

Walt was also on an episode of Law and Order:SVU. He held up a bank and killed a guy

Must be why his character has been gone so long. He has been gone most of the season.

I cant' get over looking at that pic.


I wonder what that super bunker is, in the middle? Must be huge.

I been hanging out at some LOST message boards, and the prevailing wisdom is that Locke's dad, is the real Sawyer, the one who conned the Island Sawyers dad when he was a kid.


Also, some folks think that Helen may be part of the long con on Locke, and really hooked up with his dad all along.



And a lot of people are making a connection between the blast doors coming down, and the food drop.




I still think that Kate may be a mole for the others, especially since it's established that the others have contact with the outside world. (the food drops, the clean shaven others who dress up in rags)


Plus, a part I did not know, there is a diary on ABC.com of some mystery survivor, who is doing secret things. Could be Kate.

I dunno. I will search for the Diary entires and post here in a few.

But whoever it is, it is their brother who is the other they have in the hatch.

well who else asked to speak to the prisoner? i thought no one else knew about him except jack, sayid, locke, ana lucia and, i guess, charlie. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I didn't hear gale say "he" would get angry. WHOA. Desmond must be part of the mind trick b/c otherwise, where did he go?

i heard about locke's dad being the real "sawyer." makes sense.

about the map, i thought the orientation video said there were 6 hatches? there's actually seven? and yeah, what's the big question mark? if all this ends up being one big dream, i'm gonna be SO MAD!! i hate when anything ends up just being someone's dream.

i saw this one episode of twilight zone where all this stuff happens and it turns out, it was just some sick kid playing with this box that had people trapped in it, but like teeny people - it was weird. I also read (did i post it already?) about this being one big human study - duh. but why, how, who and why these people? and why KILL some?

Whoever is writing the Diary is an OTHER. Because they complain about "these people".


And they are part of the main group that knows about the hatch. Only part of them do.


Rose, Libby, Kate, Jack, Sawyer, Locke, Sayid, Charlie, Hurley, Claire know about the hatch I think.


I still think it's got to be Kate. But the guy in the hatch is too old to be her brother. I dunno?!?!!?!?


Maybe "brother" is a term like "comrade" among the others, maybe it's not a blood thing.


Or maybe it's some side character we don't know writing the Diary.





Vince has been missing since the Shannon episode. She was chasing after him when she got shot. He may have been in some background scenes and I didn't notice though.




As for the map, I think we still have 6 bunkers, or stations, then a super station in the middle that is top secret. At least we know now that the stations are all on the Island and not spread across the planet. It does show a 7th bunker, but it looks like it got crossed out, like it isn't there.

found these translations at another message board, for the latin sayings on the map.

What's Rose's maiden name? Perhaps the person who believes their brother is in the hatch thinks that it is the real Henry Gale in there and not the goofy white guy? Rose always has been off in her own world...

I wonder if Kelvin, the guy that recruited Desmond, did the hatch door painting?

Alright, I found all the Diary entries, but there are about 10 them. I need to start a thread for them instead of posting them here.

Going through them, I don't thinks it's Rose, as they mention the back of the plane crew coming back, and they were on the beach when it happened. Nothing about Bernard being her husband.


And I don't think it's Kate, but I don't know. Anyhow, I will start a thread here in a minute and post the jpegs of the diary.

In the first paragraph of the most recent diary entry, the person says, "This is not their island," just like Zeke said. Another reason to believe this person is an Other. And the person may not be a woman, even though the handwriting is very neat.

I agree with those people on other Lost message boards--Locke's dad is the first Sawyer. He's certainly good at making people do what he wants them to do, so he'd make a good living as a con man. I don't think that Helen would be in on a long con on Locke, though.

The writing is in all caps. It could be male or female... and I think that's why they write like that. It isn't identifable that way, really.

I think that the person was possibly on the plane, knowing that it would crash... or, did something to cause it to go down there at the island.

Either way, there is someone within the survivors group who isn't who they claim to be.

so are these journal entries actuallyon the show, or is it something that abc.com is doing just to help add more mystery to the show? I haven't heard about any journal entries on the show, that's why I ask. I wonder if they'll ever bring it up on the show. in THAT case, sun has the message bottle still doesn't she? she can compare the writing if it's one of the islanders.

As far as I know, they are not on the show at all, just something ABC and LOST are putting on the website, to mess with us. Give us something extra to think about.


But they may find their way into the show later..

I read online on some spoiler site that we find out that "he" is actually Jack's father (?) and that he turns out to be Locke's brother. WHAT? I don't think I believe it, but it's a theory...

I don't think that I believe that one. It would really piss me off to find out that Jack's father wasn't the guy who we thought he was (the doctor, who died). And I don't want to find out that Jack and Locke are related.

You know, I just assume that's some random Oceanic Plane, but knowing this show, it's the actual plane that crash's later.
