If you could pick the themes for AI now that we are down to the final 10, what would they be?

That would be cool!

I would like "One Hit Wonder" night!

Someone would have to do Safety dance.

Did they have an 80's night last season? It seems like they did, but that they sang a bunch of Whitney Houston and junk like that and not the TRUE 80's wonders, like DEVO, David Bowie, Men without Hats, Men at Work, Simple Minds, Tears for Fears, Van Halen, etc.

Maybe they can't get the rights to those songs. Or maybe they all want to sing ballads.

Nah, they just were not cool *** cough cough er um old *** enough to remember the great songs of the 80's.

I don't know, they sure kiss Barry Manalows ***. C'mon, it's Barry Manalow people. They act like it's Elvis Presley standing up there.

And all that "sugar pie honey bunch" stuff from the 50's. Or 60's. I dunno.

I know Barry is 70's. He is kinda cool a little bit. I have to admit he has a good voice. But lets get David Bowie on there, or David and David, or Depeche Mode.

Kenny Loggins was the closest we have come, and he was a guest judge. I don't recall if he any of them did some of his tunes.

Oh, great picks... both Journey, and Sting, would be GREAT nights.

Though, Steve Perry has such a high voice, and a lot of the songs could be a bit of a challenge to them.

I still say that Randy Jackson might be pretty harsh on anyone doing a Journey song....being that he was in that band for awhile.

What would they sing? Open Arms? Thats probably the most worn out song of Journey anyways...and that would be the only one I see that someone could sing. Any other song they would choose would be too difficult for them to handle.

Looked around and found that a Journey song was sang already. Clay Aiken sang...yes, Open Arms.

The song choice did not surprise me. Any other song would have.

Cant remember how they rated him singing it though.

I wouldnt mind that song being sung. For me though, the person singing it would have to be right on for me, or I myself would be harsh on the person. I figure if Im like that, Randy would be just as tough, if not tougher.

I would be tough too Mystic. I love Journey, but man if someone could pull if off that would be wonderful.

blech. I'd certainly skip watching if they did a Journey theme. *cringe*
I like the idea of an 80's theme. but not the bubble-gum/poppy stuff.

What 80's groups do you like Mzkitty?

Oooh, motown would be cool. I like disco, but not sappy disco. that'd be a fun show. Or they should stick to a song writer theme, that way we can have different genres.

Not specifically limiting to groups, but solo singers as well.
Tears for Fears,Genesis(Phil Collins),Billy Joel, Richard Marx, etc. I haven't listened much in a looooooooooong time
