Paula Abdul admits that she’s been acting weird lately. And she says it’s all Simon Cowell’s fault.

The “American Idol” judge has fans buzzing with what seems inappropriate behavior and peculiar expressions — but she’s blaming her caustic co-judge.

“He’s worse than ever,” Abdul told In Touch Weekly. “If they say, ‘Paula is going crazy,’ the reason is Simon is whispering things in my ear, like, ‘What’s the price of beans?’ Things that make no sense at all.”

In other crazy-making comments, Abdul claimed, “Simon gave me advice and said on ‘The X Factor’ he always refers to a fortune cookie and says the moth who finds the melon finds the cornflake always finds the melon and one of you didn’t pick the right fortune.”

Separately, Abdul is said to be upset with Cowell’s favorite contestant, Kellie Pickler for supposedly valuing his support more than hers.

“Paula is a little irked that Kellie is acting as if she doesn’t need her,” an ‘Idol’ insider told the mag. “Kellie has got Simon’s vote, so Paula feels Kellie is working Simon and not bothering with her.”

Rumors are swirling that either Jessica Simpson or Brittney will replace her. Lordy I hope not.

How can she blame Simon for her being a nut job? That just doesn't make sense. and what a baby, so what if the Pickle doesn't care what she says, it's not like Paula ever gives good advice anyway. she just repeats what randy says and starts clapping like a 5 year old.

Paula looked like she was on pain medicine on Wednesday. If she needs to take it for her back, then they should be more open about her saying that she is having problems. Back problems are the worst.

Where is she going to go? Back into relative obscurity?

Paula just stands there, clapping above her head. She says things like... "You're just so adorable. You're a breath of fresh air. BLAH BLAH BLAH!" I think that my cable gets extra static when she's flapping her lips. She wouldn't know how to critique if it smacked her upside the head.

Well if that rumor is true, then they are filling her boots nicely because not one of them have any singing talent to save their lives.

Nor is there one single, WHOLE, brain cell between the three of them.

Actually, Jessica Simpson is not as dumb as she leads us to believe. She knows what makes the $$ flow.
Not that I listen to any of their music. It's not my bag.
I think after watching the show for the last 3 years, I could do a better job than Paula and I can't carry a tune in a bucket.

It is too bad that they can't get someone great like Mariah to take her place. Mariah writes her own music as well as being a wonderful singer.

Jessica knows what makes the dollars and it's sure not her singing. As long as she has that hot body it doesn't matter how talented she is. It's the Carnie Wilson effect.

Paula is just a cheerleader. She loves everything. Randy is in the middle and Simon is the one who hates everything. Pretty lame dynamic.

Wouldn't it be funny if they got Debbie Gibson to replace Paula? I think Debbie was the one on that American Kids show.

Debbie was also on that dancing with the stars show.

I didn't watch it, heck no I didn't watch that rot, but I saw a blurp on it on Entertainment tonight.

What about Madonna or Whitney Houston!!

Whittney has her own loopy problems, and she isn't as nice as Paula. I fear she and Simon would end up in a slap fight.

Madonna would want too much money, but she knows what sells that is for sure.

I can't see either one being willing to fill that empty chair, IF Paula really leaves.
Madonna would be great, in my opinion... but I don't think that she would have time.
And Whitney... like we NEED a drugged out, has been, sitting there.

Wait... don't we already have one of them now?

There were rumors flying last year saying that she wasn't coming back. If she leaves, I dunno who would be good to fill her spot because it's not like she does much anyway. But I think it would wind up making an effective impact anyway.

She's too damn wishy washy, and never gives advice. I want someone in there that will rate more than their looks, and say that they wanna give someone a squish!!!

I honestly don't see Paula going anywhere. It wouldnt be AI without her. These are the worse suggestions I've ever heard. Madonna is a sex crazed maniac with not an inch of talent whatsoever and Whitney Houston is too doped up on Coke all the time. Not a good choice to represent America if you ask me.

Paula just needs to kick the crack habit, or whatever she's on. And she needs to quit being a 5-year old on the show. Clap like an ADULT and quit blabbing and slapping Simon while he talks. That's all she does, disagree and try to talk over Simon. it's annoying. She's my least favorite part of the show.

I'm sorry but saying things like "i'm your #1 fan" and "there's a new religion and mandisa is its church" WHAT THE HELL KIND OF CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM IS THAT? I wouldn't miss her if she was gone is my point.

I'm with you, illuminate. She's rather annoying. I used to like her, because she didn't deliver criticism in a harsh way. But, she has been really bad the past few seasons. She stands up, clapping like an idiot, and hootin' and what-not. Ummmmmmmmm, shouldn't the judges be a little bit more IMPARTIAL? She makes it known, with certain contestants, that she likes them, etc...

Im ready for Paula to go. She is annoying as hell!

You could see that Simon was not really pleased with her when she was wanting to have Ace tell her about his scar "later." Heh.. You would think she would have learned her lesson by now and stay away from making round about comments to the toddler boys.

Get off the drugs Paula....youre making a horses you know what out of yourself.

She is definitely a has been. It would certainly be no loss to me if she didnt come back next season.

BUT...I dont want Spears or Simpson either. I mean we already had to listen to Paula and personally, she was never that great to me anyhow. She was big for awhile in the 80's and after that she was nowhere to be heard. Spears and Simpson are in that same category. They are popular now...but in years to come, they will be void as well.

Get someone who actually has some talent.

Paula just signed a 3-year contract this week.

I heard that on the news last night. Paula was a bit better with offering a few contestants some advice this week. I just wish she would wait her turn and not interrupt.

Reply To this Message

Posted by: Lawless

Well, I guess that we're stuck with her, eh?

I hope that she can give real advice, instead of her "Oh, you're just so cute!" etc... comments. (Like that whole thing about wanting an explanation of Ace's scar, later.)

I am tired of watching her interrupt... tired of watching her smack around Simon. If it were the other way around, it would be inappropriate. So, knock the crap off, Paula. And if she could refrain from her standing up and praising certain contestants, that would be better.

Seems as if Paula isnt going anywhere. Just heard tonight that she signed another 3 year contract with AI.

BUT there is something wierd with her going on right now. Ill see if I can find an article on it in case no one has heard of her lastest bizarre issue.

Paula Abdul tells police she was assaulted at LA party

Associated Press

LOS ANGELES - Police are investigating a report by "American Idol" judge Paula Abdul that a man assaulted her at a private party over the weekend.

On Tuesday, Abdul filed a report at the Hollywood station claiming she had been a victim of battery about 1 a.m. Sunday, police Lt. Paul Vernon said Thursday.

"According to Abdul, the man at the party argued with her, grabbed her by the arm and threw her against a wall," Vernon said. "She said she had sustained a concussion and spinal injuries."

Abdul provided police with the name of the man, but Vernon withheld it pending further investigation. The man had not been charged, Vernon said.

Abdul's publicist Michelle Bega declined to comment. The incident was first reported by Us Weekly.

Abdul, who shares judging duties on Fox's hit talent show with Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson, appeared as scheduled on this week's "American Idol."

Last week, she signed a deal to remain on the show for another three years

The deal here is that she didnt report it to officers until after The show on Tuesday. CNN reported and showed clips of her from the show on Tuesday and stated that she didnt look like she was suffering with any spinal or head injuries. Also she stated that she didnt go to the hospital because she treated with a personal doctor. Okay...spinal injuries and head injuries and she doesnt go to the hospital???

Didnt look like she was suffering badly to me either. Whats up with this woman?? She is loopy!

Not only that.... she's had back problems, because of an auto accident. You would take that seriously, right? One would think so. The way she was moving around, and laying her head on the table, etc.... doesn't show me that her back is hurting her. I have spinal problems, and had surgery a year ago... and if my back is hurting, you know it. She just wants to stay in the spotlight.

I know you all are waiting for me to post. Kidding but here it is anyways. I like Paula. Her 'thing' with Simon is hilarious. Simon isn't innocent in all of this either...he eggs her on I think on purpose. Just like Ryan Seacrest eggs on Simon. Something I read somewhere said that despite all the comments between the judges they get along really well behind the scenes.

Well there it is. Paula isn't bad...unless you count a little ditziness.

Britney Spears has a good voice she has just turned into a slut. Jessica Simpson is strange...and a little slow. I don't think either of them could be a good judge.

LOL Paula has plenty of talent. She sings, composes, and choreographs. Hmmm in my books that's plenty of talent. I've noticed all the women hate Paula. I sense jealousy.

I'm not jealous of Paula. I'm tired of her wishy washy comments. She doesn't give them a lot of advice. It's always something about how they look, or, "You're just so adorable, I want to squish you." Oh, and then there is the "Breath of fresh air" comment she so frequently makes. I think that Randy is the only one that truly gives them feed back, time after time, about their performance, and also, advice for other things.

The first season of AI, I remember Paula giving better advice - and even negative advice, but she was nicer about it than Simon. Last year things started going downhill. I don't know if it is medication or what, but I seem to recall it starting about the time the media was making comments about Paula and Simon being an item (a couple). For a while they both played into that story, I thought, but now the way they interact is awful - very distracting to the show and disrespectful to contestants.

My vote for a replacement judge for Paula, if AI ever needs one, would be Winona Judd, Dolly Parton, or even k.d. lang. All are fabulous singers (in my opinion) with stage presence that could offer real advice.
