Man, anyone else watch this show? I was hooked on in when it first ran a few months ago.

I try explaining it to people and they just don't get it.

I have to tape it because they always cut to commercials right when it's a big moment. Brilliant, but it gets on my nerves.

Plus I have always been a big Howie Mandel fan.

I watched it for the first time yesterday and it's cool. I was getting all nervous.

I like it because there are no trivia questions or lame stunts. It's all up to odds and fate. I so want to go on that show.

I read that our version was copied from the one in Denmark though. Anyone else hear that?

Also, how does Howie remember all the names of those girls?

Howie was on Jay Leno a few nights ago....man, he is still sooo funny! He talked about how he remembers their names....it was something like they are with him at all times...whatever it was, it was funny.

The pastor this evening got a tad bit greedy (or I should say her family did)...she ended up with $5.00. That bites!

The smallest amount anyone has ever left with.

She said its not money that makes her happy, but her family that does it. Yeah...okay...that may be...but if the money didnt mean anything..what the heck was she on that show for??

She wanted to take that 179,000 but her greedy family made her go on. She should make them take out a loan and give her the damn money themselves.

BTW...I love the new Howie bald headed look....man, that guy is a hottie!!

Thanks, mystic. I've set it to record on my dvr. Unfortunately, you can only record two things at any one time. So, there will be nights that I can't do that. But, I will get tonights, and watch it tomorrow when I get home from work.

Yeah, you know the pastor lady was going to give all her money to the church anyway. Still, $5 has to hurt.

Oh God! They were playing the Australian version of this when I was back there last year. I didn't get it, I really didn't. I sat there saying "so, they, what? Answer questions and each question is worth some money?" and my dad was answering "no, they just each have a suitcase and they offer them money"... and I still didn't get it, I was saying "so, each person gets asked like a question then?"

The game just seems pointless, if there's no trivia stuck in there.

Each person has a case, or box, each box has a figure in it. One person gets choosen at the beginning of the game, and with there box or case they choose other peoples cases, and then they open there case, eventually till there are only 2 cases left, there own and one other persons. During the game a banker (i dont know what it is in America) will off the the person an amount, bassed on what figures are still unopened. They can either deal or no deal ... if they deal they take that money, if they dont they open more boxes.

I dvr'd last nights ep, and I'm watching it now... this is cool. It is a pure game of chance, and luck! Nothing else.

I would LOVE to be a contestant on this show... and walk away with at least 100k!

I have been watching this since it started in the UK it is a brilliant show and I am glad to see Noel Edmonds back on TV, I like the guy even though he is like Marmite (you love em or hate em)

I watched Wed nights ep, yesterday, where the lady was down to THREE cases to choose from, and the 2mil was still out there. She walked away with $407k.. that was awesome!!!

I sooooooo want to do this, and try to be a contestant. Do they tape this in LA, Heck? If so, maybe I can get Sherry and Ron to go, and we can grabbed a group and get on the show, and see if we're picked!!!

I checked it out and they are doing an open cast call on the East Coast right now. Everyone else sends in a 5 minute video of yourself and the 'support' you would bring with you. Fill out a form on their site and send it all in. It's all on their page at nbc.com

We were talking about this show, at work today, and that was one of the topics. I wouldn't risk it, because I could use 100k. I don't know how much you get after the taxes, and such... but, it would pay off ALL of my bills, and leave me with left overs.

I don't how it works in the states but in the UK all the money you win on game shows is tax free.

Not so in America from my understanding... but, maybe that's not so.

Okay, I just asked my boss about this!!! It's about half that is taken, when you win, because it's alllllllllll taxable... it's compensation. So, you guys are lucky, in that sense.

Yeah it's like the lotto. You win 100 million and get about 30 million after state and federal taxes.

Yes, but we don't pay taxes like you guys do, over there, on everything. You're at like 20% tax on things. We're like 8%. So, maybe that's why it's so different for this winnings.

So has anyone played the online Deal game? I walked with 300 grand, not to shabby. Wish it was real.

Also- play that thing during the show where you can pick a box. It says to text your guess for $1, but you can enter online for free up to 10 times per episode. That's almost two guesses per box so you're in no matter what. Just a matter of random selection from there.

I was kind of joking You know if you go on deal or no deal you have to go until you are picked to be choosing the numbers ... thats how it works in England

No one has made more than $300,000 so far, and that was an offer. No one has had more than $25,000 in their case that they kept. You have a 1/26 chance of picking the million. 3/26 of getting at least $400,000. Odds say they should have gotten it already.

You think the computer that chooses the player doesnt know where the millions is? even if the players choose the numbers (i think)

Well, on the U.S. version, they 'say' that an independent, third-party company assigns all the dollar amounts to the cases and not even the producers know what's in what case. As for the contestants, they choose them long before the show begins, they know who is coming up.

The the very next lady sold her's for around $700+K and had a million in her case. Nuts.
