How do you respond to racists, bigots, haters, etc.?

So you come across bigoted person that just has a problem with diarrhea of the mouth when it comes to talking about people different from him/her or they select a group to hate. How do you react to him?

I don't know how to answer this one, because it depends on the person.

If I don't know them, I will walk away, shaking my head in astonishment.

If they are a friend, I will talk to them, and explain that I don't partake in their views, and that if they are going to slander others, I will not hang out with them.

It depends for me as well. Usually I'll just shake my head and laugh at their ignorance while I walk away. Other times I'll just go off the wall on them. Sometimes it just REALLY pisses me off. But I know insulting them isn't going to change anything. I try to just not take it personally and feel sorry for them that they live in ignorance and stupidity...

I will just say...racists and bigots need love too. That's why they are racists and bigots....

I tend to find that these people are to ignorant to be talked around. I have heard this anger towards others is to make up for inadequacies in their own sad little lives but I just think they are hate filled evil little people.
I fell sorry for them and walk on unless they are getting in the face of an innocent person then they get my fist in their face ( happend once and I am not sorry) that they understand

Best way to respond to some who say, uses the n-word, is to tell them it looks like they may have some chocolate in their milk.

you cant change the minds of ignorant GROWN people. you just live your life and do your best to show the upcoming generations that love is blind, family is blind, and inferiority should be blind.

though my "gut reaction" is to punch them in their head...lol im to little to b doin stuff like that though, so i gotta go deeper than that.

I just tell them I'm 10x the racist they are, biggots don't like competition.

depends on my mood, though generally, i'll ignore them. if i'm feeling combative, i'll argue with them, but thats rare.

If they are my age I try reasoning/explaining, but if they are old enough to have had plenty of time to grow rigid in their opinions, then I ignore them.
