Rebublicans Block Hatian Immigration Amendment

The Haitian Refugee Immigration Fairness Act Amendment(H.R. 3658) by Congressman Kendrick Meek, that would have close loopholes in existing immigration laws ,that keep Haitians from attaining permanent residency status in this country was blocked in the Republican- controlled House Rules Committee.

" By not allowing a vote on this bill, the Repuplican leadership is separating parents from children and deporting Haitian-Americans who have lived here for years." (Meek)
