| Posted by: gaboman | | I played it a little on the weekend... it wasn't bad.
The very first scene, you're completely powered up with all the moves and all the power, and they basically see how long you can last against a whole stream of enemies. Then decide on your difficulty level. I went for normal... which isn't too difficult.
After that, it follows the story of the matrix to some extent.
Well, like, the first level is before you leave the Matrix, you're at Neo's workplace and you have to run and hide from the agents and police. Which is fine, that's what happens in the movie, except instead of getting creeped out and going back into the window, you climb along the edge and make your way to the roof. Then you find your way back down to the street and meet up with Trinity.
Then you choose: red pill or blue pill. Choose the blue pill it says "game over", choose the red pill and you continue on.
The next couple of levels are kung fu training. You fight with various oponents to get your kung fu up to scratch. They're fun, but also don't follow the story line.
After those levels, weapons training... This is as far as I got, but basically it teaches you to use guns. If you turn "bullet time" on while shooting, your shots are more accurate...
Anyways, so far its fun, but nothing to write home about. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: HECK! | | I heard at the end it follows the movie, fighting Smith in Revolutions, but after it's done Smith turns into a giant made out of concrete or something and you have to beat him again.

| Posted by: gaboman | | It does follow the story (so far), however goes off on really weird tangents, that are actually fairly entertaining.
The ending is supposedly weird. They completely revamped it for the game. I've held back from reading what's going to happen so I can be surprised...
Though, really, I can't see myself finishing it for a while yet... | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: gaboman | | Oh, one problem I found was the camera movements. There was one level where an agent came to get me, and I basically had to shoot to hold him off for a minute or so... which was fine, but as I ran around, shooting at him so he was busy dodging and wouldn't come hit me, the camera would twist away from him, so I basically couldn't see what he was doing at any point. It became frustrating. | | Reply To this Message

He'd probably end up crushing you with his "Ergo"s.

| Posted by: gaboman | | Update on my progress:
I played through the entire Matrix movie. It was good, though a little frustrating when I was trying to flatten Smith with the subway train.
After you complete the first movie, the next level is something like "red pill adventures, where you have to save 5 or 6 different people from the Matrix. After that, it goes onto Reloaded... You fight Seraph, which isn't too challenging, but a little bit. After you fight him once, you break through the roof and start fighting him on poles with a lake of fire underneath you.
After that was the Smith Rumble, which was pretty awesome. You just have Smith after Smith come after you and you kick their butts.
Then you go to the chatau..., after which you can stuck in this weird ass, altered reality... I got lost, so I turned the game off at this point.... | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Sierradaddy | | I played this game on the PS2. I thought it was great. Keep going, Gabo. The altered reality level was the most annoying thing about the game, imo. Once you get through it, you should be fine. I think I spent 2 days in there, pulling my hair out and just screaming at the tv and banging away at the controllers. Once I got through it, my stress leve went back down. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: gaboman | | I don't even get it. I was trying to get through this one door which was in the roof somewhere for about an hour. Then I noticed I can go through different doors on the first level. Then I thought after I go through those, I could climb up to the top of the building... I just plain dun' get it.
My Xbox cacked itself the other day though, so I'll be off the game for a while. | | Reply To this Message
