WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Actress Angelina Jolie is pregnant with Brad Pitt's child and is expecting this summer, People magazine reported on Wednesday.

"Yes, I'm pregnant," the U.S. entertainment magazine quoted Jolie as telling a charity worker in the Dominican Republic, where she is working on a movie.

People magazine added that Jolie's first pregnancy had been confirmed by representatives of both stars.

Actor Pitt, 42, divorced actress Jennifer Aniston in October after 4 1/2 years of marriage.

He had previously met Jolie, 30, on the set of their film "Mr. & Mrs. Smith," but the couple played down rampant media speculation about their relationship, saying they were just friends.

Last month, media reported that Pitt had filed legal papers in Los Angeles to adopt Jolie's two adopted children, adding that this might be a step leading to marriage.

Why do they assume it's Pitts?

You can tell in that picture. They sure do wait until the last minute to let us know things. Why don't they just tell us their whole life story and all their plans up front?

Damn it... and I had such plans of Brad Pitt helping me to "go straight" and having his baby! Now what am I to do? I guess it's a life of women for me!!!

The least he could do is get you pregnant before he settles down.

yeah the nerve of that man! Kris, you will just have to let go of the dream. You still have your Lucy dream though.

Before she met Brad she had vowed she would never have children of her own while there were still orphans in the world who needed homes.

Supposedly she has changed her mind because said "If you won't have my baby, I won't be with you" and she thought being with Brad was enough of a reason to change her stance on having her own child. Brad must be quite a catch to make such a strong woman as Angelina change her mind on what is to her, such an important issue.

They have both said that they will still adopt even though they are having their own child.

It's good they compromised though. The rags have said that Pitt wanted kids and Aniston didn't, thus ending their marriage. Looks like Jolie agreed to squirt out a kid for him.

They were pretty quick about it too. I can't decide whether I think they will have another one or now. I heard they are adopting a child from the Dominican republic next.
