| I originally wrote this post with spoilers, but they weren't needed, so its spoiler free.
Quite honestly - and this is just my opinion - without the whole "oh he's saying this or that about Jesus Christ and his relationship with whoever, this book just falls flat, right onto its face. It was lame, it really was.
Sure, towards the start you have the interesting info on certain paintings, buildings, perfect design and all of that hoopla, but once you get past that you have about 5 characters to wonder "whodidit" - and you know who it is, because he's the lamest character out of the lot... it just had to be him. You're not even given subtle hints/clues or anything, just motive.
I must be one of the only people who read this book, didn't give a rats ass about the religious aspects, and tried to see it as a mystery and was just severely disappointed... I think if you took the blow to Christianity out of the book, I feel a lot of people may have thought the same thing. | |
