| Posted by: Sierradaddy | | Angels and Demons is the last book I read. I'm not much for reading novels, for some strange reason... I read this book within a week, which for me is extraordinary, because usually I don't even bother getting started. I remember burning through the first half of the book in like 2 days. So, if you wanna go with my opinion (although I don't read many novels, but I do a bit of creative writing... Go figure...), the book was great. I have absolutely nothing to compare it with due to my lack of interest in reading novels, but I hope that doesn't lessen my opinion...
It was a good book in my opinion. 'Nuff said. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Lawless | | PLOT:
When world-renowned Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is summoned to a Swiss research facility to analyze a mysterious symbol -- seared into the chest of a murdered physicist -- he discovers evidence of the unimaginable: the resurgence of an ancient secret brotherhood known as the Illuminati... the most powerful underground organization ever to walk the earth.
The Illuminati has surfaced from the shadows to carry out the final phase of its legendary vendetta against its most hated enemy... the Catholic Church.
Langdon's worst fears are confirmed on the eve of the Vatican's holy conclave, when a messenger of the Illuminati announces he has hidden an unstoppable time bomb at the very heart of Vatican City. With the countdown under way, Langdon jets to Rome to join forces with Vittoria Vetra, a beautiful and mysterious Italian scientist, to assist the Vatican in a desperate bid for survival.
Embarking on a frantic hunt through sealed crypts, dangerous catacombs, deserted cathedrals, and even to the heart of the most secretive vault on earth, Langdon and Vetra follow a 400-year old trail of ancient symbols that snakes across Rome toward the long-forgotten Illuminati lair... a secret location that contains the only hope for Vatican salvation.
An explosive international thriller, ANGELS & DEMONS careens from enlightening epiphanies to dark truths as the battle between science and religion turns to war... | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: nikiTa | | OMG! The Illuminati is real?
OMG! And their most hated enemy is the Roman Catholic Church?
Whatever happened to that nutcase...what was her name, anyway....
oh, yeah, SWTT.
Bet she'd have alot to say about this book....wonder if she ever read it?
As I remember, she wasn't fans of either the Illuminati or the Vatican.
But I wonder who exactly she used to be hooked up with, way long in that skeleton in the closet past of hers....hmmmmmmm
And goodness! It's a "brotherhood?"
What exactly would SWTT be exactly?
In HP terms....possibly she was at one time a "Metamorphmagus?"
And who is that on nikiTa's avatar, anyway? Jarre....hmmmmmm.....and didn't he compose a CD called "Metamorphoses" once. And on Jarre's latest DVD isn't it the eyes of Anne Parillaud, the original La Femme Nikita being viewed as the only video source on his music/visual DVD???
OMG!! And didn't SWTT mention in the conspiracy forum once that the Illuminati held powers such as "Shapeshifting?" And isn't a shapeshifter the same as Metamorphmagus?
OMG! Get me outta this place!!!

We got one now at my new church....trying to "infiltrate." During a church lunch he said a couple of words that confirmed my suspicions....and I called him on it....
He tried to throw the hierarchy mumbo jumbo on me and I was pretty much..."That don't work on me anymore, buddy, but I know who you are."
The other guy at the table absolutely freaked out of his skin..."He said, how did you know all that from two words?....

Exactly!
And that is why I am not afraid to post here..or walk down the street...or love the people that I do....or tell the one at my new church..."I am on to ya!"
Someone of darkness runs from someone of the light...and there is no reason for fear.
I mean I had my "handler," if you will, track me down by "remote viewing" back in the early 90's and the priestess said she would always do the same....
but they've all disappeared...and my CSI/Cop/FBI officer neighbour told me she knew exactly about this group back in the 80's...and they got chased out of town by the FEDS and the cops....and no one knows where they went....

You got that pretty much right there Heck...I've learned I can count on you for seeing through it!
Think of it this way....Masons are like money launderers are to the mob. Does that make sense?
And Illuminati for the most part are bloodline to bloodline...
which is really freaky in my case because I was \"adopted.\"
Now, I have hired several people, even one recently to find my birth mother, I even have a name, I have talked to the judge myself...
and they all stop dead in their tracks...they won't help me.
But the grandfather from the family I was raised by was upper echelon as well as my first adopted father.
But I am on a need to know basis here...exactly whose blood am I descended from?

The whole purpose is to create groups of people who do their dirty deeds and are so fragmented in their minds, they have no remembrance of such events, thus, secrets are kept because no one remembers them...

Whistler was the part Kris Kristofferson played in Blade. The old dude who helped Wesley Snipes fight vampires, made weapons for him.
Sorry, thought you knew his name from the movie.
I find it funny that he was a Rhodes scholar. Tell the truth, I don't even know what one is, cept that Clinton was one.

I have not read these books yet - but I am reading the comments in this thread with great interest - it is not the first time I hear something about secret organizations and I must admit my misknowledge about this topic.
So far masonry and related networks are well settled in our societies and have been for long.
I just read a historic analysis of the very famous battle of Valmy, won by the French revolutionaries over the Prussians with little human casualties more than 2 centuries ago (a few hundreds were killed when thousands deads could have been expected): this is explained by the fact that the commanders-in-chief of each side were masons and would have intentionaly avoided unuseless losses.
See masonry has unsuspected implications.

JY_French,
These implications from what you have said....indeed unsuspected by the masses.
Consider the model of the philosopher Hegel for a moment:
An end is desired,
so,
Create a conflict/problem scenario
Create a solution for this constructed conflict, whereby creating the desired end in the process.
This has basically been the means of furthering their agenda for centuries.
Look at today...it's a perfect example in many areas of life....particulary in the energy and military constructs.
And I will add that these Satanic bloodline families are the world's most skilled 'warriors' of today. Far more skilled even than Islam...
so they would want to have the least amount of casualties, simply by their skill, and to have as many available for future battles such as Valmy. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: nikiTa | | I have only been able to read this book waiting for doctors, hairdressers, and in line at Target etc etc. so I am not very far into it.
I read today about this, what DB calls an Hassassin...hooked on women...
he says, 'I am a connoisseur' while paying for his 'meal.' Oh brother, where do I begin.
First of all, a 'connoisseur' in the Illuminati would not pay for diddley. There are specially made mind control victims for that.
Second of all, a 'connoisseur' if he/she were in a 'pinch' and no mind control girlie was around....they'd head for the nearest dance club, disco, whatever they're called these days. They'd walk around find what they wanted...boom chock a locka wouldn't be long and whoops dere it is! They could tell exactly what someone was 'into' just by looking at them...no need for a freakin' menu!
I'll give you an example.
I had a straight female boss a little older than me once who was completely fascinated by the fact that I had so many, 'wimmins hangin' round.'
And she wanted to know how that was possible. So, I told her' pick out the best straight dance club in town and I'll show you.'
So, we get there and I said...pick out any woman with their back to us and within 30 seconds they will turn around and smile at me.
So, after about 5 successful attempts I said, 'Come on, make it difficult!'
And she saw a beautiful blonde model type from the back and said 'that one.'
So in way less than 30 seconds, she turns around, walks toward me and gave a look of recognition. When she realized who I was...she threw her arms around me and gave a big kiss...
Seems I grew up with this lady back in Illinois....we were childhood chums, I used to spend time on her 'entrenched' families farm and ride horses. And 2000 miles away from our hometown, there she was. And she was modeling at the time, but got out of it later because she thought the profession was for idiots.
So, that book isn't accurate in that sense. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: nikiTa | | WARNING SPOILER AHEAD if you've not reached near page 380
I read the Carmelengo's little speech broadcasted around the world.
It wasn't nearly as significant as John Galt's speech in Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged, but oh well.
The speech was poignant, yes, but it lacked substance, in my opinion.
Technology (science) vs. religion....hmmmmmm....pretty much that is how I saw the movie The Matrix...but that is beside the point.
The Carmelengo made one particular blunder in my opinion. The blunder that I see as the blunder of Roman Catholicism anyway....so it's no wonder it was majorly apparent to me.
He said: "Religion is flawed, but only because man is flawed."
Now, this makes the case several posters here have made regarding religion.
Religion is manmade, communion and relationship with the Almighty by the sacrifice of Jesus is a gift from the Father.
This is a huge distinction. I would rather have relationship with the Creator of the Universe than follow the manmade credos of a bunch of grey haired men with 'celibacy' issues.
But that's just me. | | Reply To this Message

The book doesn't get interesting, IMO, until near page 450...then it gets clear sailing. I think he could have cinched the 450 pages up into a neat 200, but again, IMO.
For a writer who states at the very beginning that the Illuminati is a real force...he sure contradicts himself by the ending. Hahaha!
But then....we are onto the Da Vinci Code...where this 'secret society,' IS a part of the Illuminati...
