I have been in search of a good blend of rock and classical genres. Vocals aren't needed, unless it's a choir influence.

If anyone is familiar with the intro to the song "Welcome Home'' off Coheed and Cambrias latest album (Good Apollo), you know what I'm talking about.

Pieces such as Carmina Burana, or Duel of the Fates (from the phantom menace) are good examples.

Again any help whatsoever will be greatly appreciated.

I got nothing. I remember a tune in the mid 80's that was classical music, with rock guitar imposed over it, I loved it, but I don't recall the name of the tune, or the band.

Try Butterflies and Hurricains by Muse. That's a decent one...

Other than that...

The band Dream Theater, perhaps?
