I've read all that you guys posted so far n i didnt find anything about R.A.B..sorry if i missed it..

Dont you all wonder that this R.A.B found out about the horcruxes before Dumbledore did? According to facts from the books, Dumbledore is the smartest and greatest wizard in e whole story so far.

BUT IS HE?

If R.A.B found out about the Horcruxes faster then Dumbledore that would mean that he/she would be smarter than him which means that there is a greater wizard then Dumbledore.Which brings me to this question: How come there is a person that is smarter than Dumbledore and havent even been mentioned in the whole series?Think about it..

Just because someone knows about something, doesn't mean that they are necessarily "smarter" it just means that they stumbled upon something, like info, to find something. If I'm an intelligent person, and there is someone else who finds the winning lotto numbers, before me, that were hidden somewhere... does this mean that they are smarter than me? NO, it means that they found out, somehow, about those hidden numbers, and got to them first. That's chance/luck, etc...

I think that R.A.B was just closer to Voldemort and found out the secret. Remember that Voldie kept his distance from Dumbledore.

Good thread.

Well, it has to be someone who was close to Voldemort, yet not too pleased with him. And though the person doesn't necessarily have to be smarted than Dumbledore, they have to be pretty skilled to get past the whole drinking water thing that Dumbledore went through. Either that or they have an accomplice... hummmmm....

I think there was an accomplice. There is no way that one person could get the locket. Someone had to die to get it though or get really sick. I still wonder who R.A.B is.

Yup an underage accomplice as Dumbledore says the boat couldnt have hold 2 wizards that are of age. Still, why cant the perosn be smarter than Dumbledore? What you all said made sense but there is a slight possiblity that the person is smarter than Dumbledore..

We didn't say that there COULDN'T be someone smarter, sb.... but you said the person MUST be smarter than him.

I wouldn't like to think so myself. Dumbledore was awesome... evil or good, I'd hate for anyone to be smarter than him.

But the underage accomplice thing is almost definite. It really makes you wonder though: who could have this accomplice been? Someone from Harry's school? One of his close friends? *chilling music plays in the background*

I mentioned previously that I think Regulus Black is R.A.B. I don't think he's smarter than Dumbledore, just closer to him and lucky to find out the info needed to get to the locket.

Regelus could be R.A.B but we dont know his middle name.

I can't think of any other R. B.'s mentioned yet, so for now, he's the only option.
