Thanks, Whidden for the synopsis of the next episode. Sounds like maybe we're finally going to get to see a new one. Two reruns in a row after having just seen them not very long ago made me feel cheated. I hope we start to get some answers instead of nothing but new questions. Although I can't help but think that there's a good chance we never will get answers. Not all that we want anyway.

I just hope we get some new ones after this new one.

If they go back into re-runs again, I will PRETEND to boycott the show.

Goodbye Shannon.

We all knew she was toast. Kind irks me they made me appreciate her character before they 'off'ed her. Sayid's gonna have a chip on his shoulder now. This really makes things interesting. I don't think anyones gonna like Anna Lucia now.

I've been really annoyed with the constant commercials in this show, so I did a little research while I was watching.

There were 5 commercial breaks in this 60 minute show and we were treated to 45 separate commercials. We actually watched the show for 37 minutes. I only counted minutes not seconds so it may be even worse. I don't know how this compares to other popular 60 minute shows but 45 commercials is really excessive.

I did enjoy the 37 minutes though. At this point I don't know whether to believe that Shannon is gone or not. If a polar bear can chase the survivors on a tropical island, people coming back from the dead would not be too much of a stretch. '

Does it seem to anyone else that there is not a lot of continuity in this show. I realize that the last two shows were reruns (I've complained about that often enough) but last week's show was all done in the hatch and this week's show was all done in the jungle. Personally I'm really glad to get a break from the hatch. But I miss transition.

Oh yeah. The first commercial break took place at 8:08. Up to that time it was all a review of what happened last so you can subtract 8 minutes from the 37 minutes that the show actually ran minus the commercials. So we saw 29 minutes of new show.

You would probably compare the commercials to watching a soap opera. They have a lot of commercials.
Something they do in Lost is show you for instance what Jack and Kate are doing and then go back and show you what they didn't show you before like what Sawyer and Michael were doing. Next week they go all the way back to the beginning and show what the back half of the plane people were doing all this time. I will miss the other characters but it will be interesting.

Oh man. You totally had to be my brother in a past life.

I just started to like Shannon in this episode.

SJ she did look pretty tonight too.

Anna Lucia is such a witch. I hope Sayid gives her hell.

I wonder who will get the dog next. STAY AWAY FROM THE DOG! THE DOG IS CURSED!

Okay... a few things from tonights episode.

First off, in Shannon's flashback, at the hospital. You see Jack walk by as the other doctor walks up to talk to her, and her step-MONSTER! So, I'm ASSUMING here, that the guy that Sarah (Jack's patient/wife) hit in her vehicle was Shannon's father. Just another "connection" between characters, without knowing it.

When Shannon is laying in the tent, after Sayid went to get her water, and we see Walt. It sounds, to me, like he's speaking backwards. Did anyone else notice that?

Okay... those were just a couple things that I noticed. I think that it was a good episode... and I'm pissed that Shannon was shot. I'm sure that she's dead. She was shot, dead center, in her chest. Oh, that look on Sayid's face at the end. He wants to snap Ana's neck, like a twig, and I hope that he does. I absolutely HATE her. Though, maybe once we're forced to "start over" from the beginning, with the tail end of the plane, and we see what they went through, I might have a different opinion of her. I can't stand how she is though... she treats Sawyer like crap, with NO feeling, at all. He might be a jerk.. but, he is ill, from the wound. She would just rather he laid in the jungle, passed out. So, I was shocked to see her actually helping, to lift him up the little cliff.

Now, one question that I have. Shannon has seen Walt a few times. Tonight, Sayid finally saw him too. Was he REALLY there, or is that his spirit, helping out? I'm just a bit confused. Then again, I'm sure that everyone is.

Walt is always dripping wet when he appears. I think he is dead and that he is a ghost trying to warn them.

and I still say the dog is bad luck. Walt- gone. Shannon- gone. Next owner- will be gone!

Valuable lesson learned: When a wraith/ghost/apparition/Walt Thingy appears, and puts his finger to his mouth and does the "shhhhhhhhhhhhh" signal,

do NOT run towards it, screaming "WALT" at the top of your voice.

It will get you killed everytime.

Wonder what he said?

Have we seen the dog on the plane in flashbacks? I can't remember.

Maybe the dog is an "other" dog and part of the Eathan Rom/Kate is the mole plot they got going on.

I didn't even THINK about Jack's wife's car accident, good call. I didn't notice Jack walking behind Shannon! Good eye. Interesting connection.

I personally am glad Shannon's gone. She was a spoiled tool. Her character meant nothing to me, I don't think she's a central character - except to tickle Sayid's pickle. But now i can't wait for the WRATH of SAYID.

Ana Lucia is the most obnoxious character - not b/c she's lame - because she's just such a WITCH! How someone can be so angry and heartless all the time is just beyond me. There better be a GREAT explanation as to why she's so horrible. And, did they actually "run" when she yelled at them to run when they heard the whispers?

Here's a question:
Why did Shannon get shot REALLY? B/c she was running YELLING OUT WALT. Wouldn't Michael and Jin HEAR her? Or wouldn't the dog BARK? Is Walt leading them TO THEIR DEATH?

OH and what happened to that chick that all of a sudden disappeared while they were climbing the cliff?

Yeah, Kris, that was a good catch! I didn't see Jack there or even think that there might be a connection between Jack's wife and Shannon's dad

I feel bad for Shannon. Her character has been growing on me all season, and last night's episode really gave her depth and showed us WHY she acted like she did when she was on the island.

I can't wait to see what Sayid does next. As my friend would say, "He's a raging volcano of fury."

A lot of us knew about the connection between Shannon's dad and the manner in which Jack met his wife. It's mixed in the threads somewhere.

I agree it's kinda odd that Michael didn't hear Shannon screaming his son's name at the top of her lungs--perhaps he was too far back and didn't arrive until after he heard the gun shot just like Sayid?

Speaking of Sayid--now that he's there perhaps he'll know a thingo r two about treating an infected gunshot wound? He'll at least be able to help get Sawyer back.

I hope he makes interesting artwork out of Ana Lucia.

The only time that the dog was shown was in a flashback, in Australia, when Walt was there. It wasn't anything big.

well, what do you expect. The woman has a night of passion/love with her main man, and don't talk to him the next day because HE DON'T BELIEVE HER.

Oh boo hoo hoo.

She never listened to anyone in her whole sad pathetic existence, why would she listen to ghost boy telling her to shut her trap?

Dont' get me wrong. In real life, being a spoiled twerp does in no way merit the death penalty,

but on a t.v. show, where it's all fake, I didn't mind seeing the death penalty dished out for some hard core Shannon stupidity.

oh i know, i'm glad she's sleeping with the fishes.

(mock) ohhh you don't believe me... you don't believe IN me.... WAH WAH

the only reason sayid says he believes her is b/c he wants another boink fest later.

when he sees walt later, that look of shock was b/c he DIDN'T believe her. Sayid inner dialogue when he sees walt: "OH SNAPS"

Now everyone is going to think Sayid is crazy.

I'm suprised no one has really talked about the whispering. It intensified hardcore while two things were happening.

1. Walt had somehow been "summoned" to appear.

2. Ana Lucia & co. were just around the corner.

I think the whispers are seperate from "the others" where before I thought for sure the whispers came from the others--that is unless Walt is now parto f their collective.

Lots of interesting possibilities...

Those whispers are freaky. I think Walt is some kind of projection. I don't know how. They were doing all kinds of weird experiments on the Island we don't understand yet.

Did Michael and co. see the dog? Wasn't he barking? I think it will be a while before they go back to when Shannon was shot. We are really not suppose to know she is dead. I think it is suppose to be a cliff hanger until we hear the back of the plane people's story.

Well, the fact that their are shows, talking about it, and showing "lost" scenes from the show, and stating that she died in her lovers arms, etc...

I made a thread on the whispers, but might as well post it here as well. It don't need it's own thread.

They don't have this shows translated yet, though I though I heard "liar" in there a few times.

They have translated the old run in's with the whispers. I wonder if they are ghosts, or just phycic energy from the Dharma group survivors, from the research station.

Or maybe the others are the Dharma group survivors, gone wild and crazy with the desease.

Hmmmm....

oh well, back to whispers:

I'm really confused. When did all the stuff that Whidden wrote about happen? It's true that I was up and down a little bit while it was on Wednesday the 8th, but I didn't think I missed anything. Also I missed the the whole show on October 12th.
Is that when it happened?

Whidden is talking about the freaky voices that Shannon and Sayid heard right before they saw Walt. Also right before Shannon got killed. The back of the plane people, Jin and Michael heard the voices also but you can't tell what they are saying. Whidden is letting us know what they are or might be saying. Also Walt seems to be talking backwards when Shannon and now Sayid saw him but of course Shannon should have realized what he meant when he was shhhhing her.

One would definitly know that Shannon is dead b/c the commercial said one person would be lost forever.
